only a tenth of a second quicker then the 2011 carbon z06 in the quarter, and did not pull as many G's on the skid pad then the carbon.

Having said that, I don't trust the numbers for the z06 Carbon either. DIfferent day, test etc. Let us see what owners get out of the car in about six months after everything is broken in and they learn their cars. That thing should be one hell of a car.
Weight advantage vs. HP advantage. I volunteer to do the test.

surface plays a big part, in producing good acceleration numbers...I thought it was interesting to see their results with and without launch control

Interestingly the acceleration time from 0-60 is much lower than I red about or saw previously. According to many sources 0-60 of zr 1 was 3.4-3.6 sec. and now it is 4???? That is more like ls2 time.

I left a fairly long-winded comment (as "jasonvp") about the article. It could have been done a lot better regarding the PTM. They were mixing it up with the launch control. While the two may be somewhat related, they pretty much missed the point of the PTM. Showing lap times before and after PTM would have been more useful than worrying about 0-60 and quarter mile times. The lane change tests were only somewhat related...

All things equal, my guess is that on most tracks the zr1 still wins with the z06 carbon just on its heels.

I think you have to take journalist tests with a grain of salt as most are not that well heeled and the more power a car has the less likely they are to be able to extract it. Its fairly easy for a ZR1 with a decent driver to run 10 second 1/4 mile times at 130 mph plus, and any Z06 will be significantly behind at the 1/4 mile marker fading fast!
