I ordered the other blendmount system a couple of months ago, the one where the main part of the mount clips onto your mirror and the rest of the system is put together off of it. This new set up looks like it simply is screwed/clamped to your mirror post. Do these two different systems work together? Meaning can I buy the part that goes on the mirror post and put it together with my current set up or would I have to buy this new blendmount set up?

Reason why I ask is I am sure they are going to have to put a new rear view mirror in my ZR1 since the onstar button has never worked and I thought it would be easier with this set up to take off and put on.

Correct, this is the generic blendmount, the one for the C6 looks like this. Whoever loaded our website did not use accurate C6 pics. I am getting it fixed right now.

yes, the C4 uses the same mount as the C5 with the Autodimming mirror, for the Escort detector it is PN BVE2000.

I just ordered and received the mount. Fits great and it is easy to install. The only problem is, that you get reduced gps reception due to the fact that the detector is placed under your mirror. If you live in the woods like me, the main features you bought the 9500ix for, are useless with this mount.

Ordered the package yesterday afternoon. It arrived today! Installation was really simple. Adjusting the mount took the longest (about 15 minutes) because the hex-heads are between the mount and the windshield, but the power cord was a snap.

I don't live in the woods but I am thinking about buying the package deal. Is the reduced gps reception a problem? I dont want to spend $600 and find out it is.

I have never heard this before....Woods or no woods, GPS is worldwide. It is not like cellphone service (terrestrial) so coverage is worldwide. You should get GPS just about anywhere in the car unless you put it in the glovebox.

I have this device mounted with the blendmount in a Challenger and a BMW, no issues unless there is thick cloud cover.

You might want to double check the post.....The mount is Billet Aluminum....i think if you saw it you might think otherwise about the $1 suction cups.
