Default Hello belt slip

I am having some nasty belt slip and so is narush. Figured I would make a separate thread so this doesn't get lost in his thread if someone is searching in the future.

Going to call around tomorrow and see who will make me a pulley in the same size that will prevent slip.

I don't think an OD lower pulley will overspin the powersteering pump if that is your main concern...do the ZR1's not run a dedicated 12 rib belt to the supercharger? The smaller 4 rib pulley stays stock size, FYI.

Its 11 rib

From LPE's site:

This balancer upgrade overdrives the speed of the power steering pump and the water pump on the LS9 engine because they are all driven from the same pulley and is not recommended for road racing or sustained high rpm applications.

So this means you can have the power, but you can't use it?

Start with sandblasting the pulley and running the absolute tightest belt you can run which will require adjusting the drivers side idler diameter to accept the few belts lengths available.

For drag racing or on the street it would be fine.

I would do this but the belts run for about $100 plus the price of sand blasting. Pulleys run for about $100. So I may as well go directly to what will fix the problem instead of hoping the sandblasting and tighter belt will solve the problem.

This might be an option also if it can provide more tension than stock.

It doesn't look like they carry an 11 rib. I'll call them tomorrow and make sure.

That's what I had to use on the engine in my avatar and it did make a good difference (but not eliminate it). Also make sure no chewing of the belts is happening on the inner and outer edges.

I am at the extreme end of testing the capabilities of a product lol. If someone wants to know if their product will survived 99.99999% of their customer base they can just send it to me and if I don't break it then you know its good to go.

I have the 2.35 pulley with the 76mm idler. If I am correct I am only seeing 15lbs of boost whereas narush was seeing 17lbs.

Wait you sure you have the 100mm idler on there? It calls for the 76mm with our setups.

Just measured mine and it looks like my idler is 100mm

Edit I remeasured and it is the 76mm

Narush is using the 100 mm idler because he is also using the OD crank pulley according to his post.

Whatcop, the belt that lingenfelter sent with your 2.35 pulley and 76 mm idler fit with no problem? I could not get that belt on to save my life, I stretched it so much trying to put it on that it ripped. Ended up using the stock 90mm idler and stock belt. I will be having the car tuned tomorrow by East Coast Supercharging.

Spoke with Narush today and he confirmed his is the 76mm and he does not have the OD pulley just the 2.35 pulley like me. Did you release the tensioner when you were putting the belt on? You have the correct 82.5 belt from lingenfelter. The stock 90mm idler would be bigger than the 76mm idler so it makes no sense how that would be easier to slip the belt on.

To install it is best to put idler on last after belt is wraped properly that was the only way mine went on. But I bout the same setup as you. Please post your numbers and dyno.sheet so we can compare.
