ZR1 MPG (Driver Information Console)
I can't believe i'm even typing this question out.. . but, just wondering - what you're getting for MPG according to your DIC?
I've daily driven my Z06 and pulled 24 mpg over 30k or so miles..
The ZR1 daily driven w/ 11k miles is @ 16.3
Just curious, what the norm is?
Thanks,

depends on which trans you have: if you have the original zr1 ratio then you'll get 22. if you have a 2012-2013 without the high perf ratio (aka original zr1 ratio) you should get a bit more, like 24.

The gearing is what kills the MPG in these.
It's hard to believe but in my procharged C5, I could get 34-35mph on the highway. I could drive from my house to the beach, roughly 4hrs and use ½ a tank of gas.

Get 19+ on average and 24+- at 65mph - falls off a bit above 65. Don't go by me though, at 10K miles, the tires are still looking new.

The "close ratio" ZR1 transmission has a .67:1 6th gear and the "wide ratio" ZR1 transmission has a .5:1 6th gear(same as the Z06).
Window sticker on the "close ratio" is 20 MPG highway and the "wide ratio" is only 21 MPG. The Z06 is 24 MPG. If it were strictly the gearing, then the "wide ratio" ZR1 should be the same highway MPG as the Z06, as they both would be turning the same engine RPM's at any given speed(both having a .5:1 6th gear).

Count your blessings if you see 20 on the highway.

Sorry but that's a pipe dream. I think if you drove it like Al Gore you might get 21-22.
I haven't checked mine the last few drives but I'd be lucky to hit 18-19 MPG. I just can't drive for very far without succumbing to the temptation to ease into it and push myself back into the seat and grin The amusement park is open and I have my own personal roller coaster.

It's a compression and tuning issue, mostly.
