Dupe, and not even about the C7. Just about the outgoing old ZR1 beating the newest and greatest Viper.

Kudo's to GM. I wonder why SRT didn't persue a cup tire option for the viper ?
I'm curious if the results would change with the viper on cup tires or the ZR1 on regular run flats.

Are the cup tires still run flat? Watched this yesterday. Surprised that the viper doesn't come with better brakes.

Thanks lavender. I was first thinking most people who track there vettes would switch out thier run flats for non but then I thought maybe not for the cup tires because I've seein nothing but great things about them.

Viper should come with good brakes like the vette foresure. What i can't figure out is viper takes a 7:14sec or is it 7:11 sec at Nurburgring record and smokes the ZR1 by like 7 seconds. That's huge.

I know viper has two versions. The one against the zr1 was their base model. Maybe the one at the ring was the track version?

I love it when he says "I hope they never quit building these things". The ZR1 really is an amazing car. Most cars are great a some aspects, the ZR1 is great at all aspects. I cant even imagine life without it!

They tried and got denied. Michelin won't sell to them, GM has a deal with Michelin to block the sale to the Viper team. So Dodge is going to Pirelli to develop a similar spec tire which may delay the launch of the Next Viper ACR.

I still enjoy see this - even after seeing it numerous times.

Interesting. I didn't know that. I'll take a Michelin tire over a Pirelli any day.

I imagine there must be frustration over at the SRT group. Now they are playing catchup especially with a new generation Vette about to launch and pressure from Fiat (by way of Ferrari) to limit the Viper's power output... Corporate politics making it easier for GM in the performance race. But a decade ago who would've thunk a factory Vette would be Neck to Neck let alone beat the mighty Viper. Interesting times for sure.

Geesh, I'm so glad they're both American made! Did you hear the super cars Pobst says the Corvette will beat around the track? Wow! It's absolutely great to be a performance car enthusiast while it lasts!!!
