Have had the exhaust off of my ZR1 at least once, and it seems like a pretty standard vette setup. But I have never figured out what the axle back reference means. What's the difference?

Axle back just refers to teh rear most portion. ZR1 is specific if going back to original.

So, I guess you're looking for a stock set of ZR mufflers that have not been cut.

FWIW, the rear most portion is the muffler and the integrated pipe that requires that the differential be dropped to in order to uninstall it. Either that, or you cut the pipe and rebuild a connection or weld it.

It will come out without having to drop the rear end. sometimes easy, sometimes with a little extra grunt.

Removing the heat shield above the mufflers gives a little more room and helps a lot.
