Found this car at the auction and i instantly fell in love. It was the color i have always wanted. 2011 16k miles 3zr and i grabbed it for 56k! (Great deal). Once the car arrives at my dealership we inspect it and find out it has alot of issues. Fresh leak from alot of places, clutch seems to be messed up, and some other issues according to my mechanic. I am sure car has been abused but these cars can take a beating. Car is modded (longtubes, intake, tb, and i am sure more). We have a chance to return the car to the auction for a full refund. I am stuck in a bubble to i keep the car at my own risk or let it go back and continue to look. I have seen clean zr1s around 60k. Also i have no previous history unless someone recognizes this car! That car was clearly more than abused...

Take it back...there are CRAZY deals out there.

Devils advocate : Lots of money in go fast parts in that car.

How are the brakes ? If the interior, chassis and brakes check out and there is no repair work on the paint you can fix those minor issues cheaply and do quite well. Its a ZR1 some get driven. It might wash up real nice.

That car was not owned by a waxer for sure but there was $$ invested in it.

Send 'er back. Go pick up a stock, well taken care of car. When you see an article written by the owner in the craigslist ad, or lots of pictures, and the guy wants to talk to you about the car's performance on the phone, you KNOW it'll be nice.

It all depends what you're looking for. Yes auctions might be cheaper, and yes there are many of them out there. The mint NCRS quality units will cost more than your average unit. It all comes down to what you're looking for and what you're willing to pay for.
