hello from england
hello everyone from england my names steve and just joined your forum
looks like a minefield of valuable info as their not many zr1,s here in england if any at all that i know of so im verry happy i found the forum!
my zr1 originally was part of a large car collection in saudi and never driven for some bizarre reason and came with 500 miles and is as new
ive just completed a engine service for peace of mind ready for our summer and to enjoy and put some miles on the odometer just as it was intended !
ive had a quick scan of the forum and im hearing stone chipping the paintwork seems to be a common problem as im going to try and keep the car in as new a condition as possible but at same time still enjoy
ive clear protection on the rear ducts but have noticed ive a small chip even further to very rear of panel alarmingly
do the wheel arch protectors really work as those huge front tires even on turning steering must go beyond there protection

Welcome aboard. Beautiful ZR1
As to your question, I've found it necessary to put clear film not only around the rear brake vent - but also clear film protect the rear fender flare. You can do that piecemeal, or you can film the rear brake area and entire rear quarter panel.

Welcome to the forum! I am glad to hear that you found a pristine, low mileage ZR1. I am sure you will enjoy it, particularly since ZR1s are so rare in England.

Nice! I've visited twice and only saw a single beat up C5 Corvette while there. You're sure to draw a lot of attention with that beauty.
So I wish I'd have put some Clear Bra to cover the front part of the rear fender bulge, about where the gas tank door is and where it starts to flare out. It's crazy how many rocks get kicked up that high from the front tires. I'd generally recommend doing the entire front bumper, part way up into the hood and the front foot of the front fenders, the entire side skirts, the front air splitter, the rear brake ducts, and the area at the front of the rear fender flares.

thanks all for the greetings and suggestions
i cleared the the rear wings and sills and just got a pair of cheapo front wheel flares of ebay which dont look too bad for now as a temporary fix just to guard against stone chips!
i intend to buy the apsis ones but how do you buy from them there website doesnt seem to have link to pay online unless im doing something wrong ?
the red zr1 badges thanks chaps as i didnt realise were blue originally!
if you look closely the front end has been vandalised with pinstripes which the first owner did in saudi
i wet sanded and buffed them as soon as i got the vette home so looks as new now
looks as though they painted these too so will attempt to restore the badges too or buy new ones

Congrats on the beautiful ZR1. I feel for you with that front plate. Is it possible to run without it over there? If not, there are some better alternatives. At any rate, welcome to the club!

Their website leaves much to be desired as far as ordering products directly through it.
They do answer their email so you can ask questions that way. Tread lightly when dealing with them and all will be well...
