Just stumbling across this thread. I'm out of Dallas (Far North) also - and in my year-long search for an Inferno Orange (with all options I wanted), I came across this one several times while it was listed at an Arizona CarMax, I believe. They had it priced at $55K or $54K at the time- which was too high (especially since they generally refuse to negotiate). $48K, and it would have been sitting in my garage! The CarMax warranty would get rid of any concerns. Congrats on the purchase- and I sure hope I see it around Dallas.

I think I saw some pictures of it at a Corvette Club meetup - but I didn't attend that one with my 2012 IO. I think I even commented on thread in awe! Congrats again!

Yup, I met up with the C2C2 guys. I'll be posting videos of all of it. Stay tuned!

After some major Google-fu, I tracked down the (only) prior owner. He was a great guy to talk to and long-time Corvette owner. My hopes were confirmed in that he had family in Texas, a property in Tennessee, and lived in Arizona. He just loves driving and every mile, except the 1,000 unaccounted/unsupervised CarMax miles, was on the highway. He got 31,000 miles out of one set of Michelin supersports!

I took some notes and will do another video with all the details soon.

Cool car! I've noticed CarMaxx being almost notorius for putting front license plates on cars that were never intended to have one. A nice high-five to the face to the guy who installed it and to the crony politician who says you need a front plate.

Ha! That's awesome. The fact that he got that many miles out of the tires confirms that the car wasn't beat on. Congrats again man!

Took a page out of your book yesterday evening while finishing up the install of my CF Side Skirts.

My Porter Cable 7424 has served me well for years. All the cool kids have a Rupes now....I'm sure I'll have to have one in a few months! You're welcome to come by anytime and try out the products I have/will have anytime. I'm near the Galleria.

Sounds like we're neighbors. I'm at Frankford and Dallas North Tollway. I have several chemical guys pads, interested to try some cutting pads/cutting compounds for the full paint correction. I've been pretty impressed so far with the results of the IO paint with just a clay bar and wax.

I think I posted that thread over 6 months ago, I think it was a smart buy as the car will most likely not drop below 45k in the next 5 years. If anything it would anticipate the value to increase.

White and IO ZR1's are THE best colors, most will agree.

I wholeheartedly agree! The bumper-to-bumper warranty is transferable, and covers the car until the odometer reads 100k, or 5 years from 4/2017. I figured it was worth the chance for a few years of fun!

You get a hold of the window sticker and/or build sheet? You can order those from National Corvette Museum- they also have some great info. That's how I found the original owner of mine- though I've never been able to track them down. I found the 2nd owner- but they never returned my calls. Nice to see you got in contact with yours!

...

And just watched the video- you are aware of the NCM stuff!

Just wondering if there are any updates on your Z? I enjoy the videos and although you originally said there would be no specific schedule for your updates, I was wondering what is up your sleeve? My guess is the lack of owners issue posts, verses vendors and for sale posts in our section was a reason why your original post was so popular and got the response it did. No pressure here Bud, just interested in how things are going, and to be honest, just a little bored with the current activity in this forum section.

I'm with Rich427, would love to hear how she's coming along. I also agree with the others, at $48K that's a great buy and I would have scooped it in a heartbeat.
