Default Weld RTS Wheel Fitment & Traction issues

I have a bolt on ZR1 making almost 700whp and 700wtq, running stock wheels and 335/25/20 MT Street SS and have problems getting traction in 1st gear.

We decided to run 17x11 weld rts in the rear for extra sidewall and 18x5 in front to improve overall acceleration and unsprung mass. The front rim won't fit like they do on the c6 z06, so instead of grinding the calipers, we just order spacers and wheels studs and will try once its received.

For the rear, I ordered the C6 Weld RTS rims because we are installing C6 brakes. Tires are 315/35/17 MT ET Street SS.

I want to ask if anyone tried this setup and will it hold up 1st gear rolls from 40mph? Or shall we switch to M&H 325/45/17?

Also, are the 315 too narrow for the zr1 fenders on the c6 wheels? Will it make a difference if get the z06

If you want a tire to dead hook on the street use the MT Pro. Had these on my 1200 HP Supra and they WILL hook. Downside they last like 2 months if that , they will get you killed in the rain lol.

Thanks I don't think them make them for 17x11 rims.. Are they radials or bias ply?

Thanks man.. So you think the c6 wheel will be too narrow looks wise? Because I just noticed they are med pad with a different offset then the C6Z wheels.

its not a bias ply its a radial. Fastetst radial cars in the 10.5 class run this tire. They only make them in a 15" http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/s...et-radial-pro/. But if you want to dead hook on sand those are the tires to run. New et streets are supposed to have the same compound ( R2) but i did not have any luck with them and the guys over at Real Street said they are not the same. Mind you my 2jz did not make the torque down low like these v8s do. I don't know what you have to do to get a 15 back there but if i was going to spend the cash on Welds , get 15s and beed locks , do it right and cry once. I was cutting 1.3s -1.2s consistent with these tires with all the boost , before I couldn't do that. Now like i said before the tire has some down sides to them but they WILL hook on a sand bar lol.

yes you want the z06 pad height and backspacing for a zr1. The ET Street R will hook better the the S/S

Damn ingot the base c6 wheels cause of the base c6 brakes.. I might either change to C6z or add spacers.. How does et sreet r compare to m&h? Is 28 inch too much for a 700whp car? Mainly straight line roll race. Sorry just got too many questions I'd like to know

28" is probably too tall for a 700whp car with 3.42 gears and an M6.
