The ZR1 has far from "old technology"...In fact for the years it was out, it was more advanced than the stuff the Z06 offers now vs other sports/super cars out there. The Z06 took as many steps backwards (Such as 1.7L blower, weight, and straight line speed) as it did forward! I've seen M7 Z06s vs ZR1s on the highway, the ZR1 wins.
Individuals (Owners of ZR1s) have shown that the ZR1 with the same tires as the Z06/07 (Sport Cup 2s) runs the same track times as the M7 Z06 anyways. The Z06s only advantage is the A8 for those who can't drive.

I researched the thought on this before I picked up my 2013 Zr1. The overall fact of production numbers really drove me away from the c7. I have only seen one other zr1 the entire time I have lived in my town..I see a c7Z every day. I'm hoping the value of this car goes back up after time, such as the Ford GT.

Since it was brought up, this is certainly not about being on a budget as it will be parked next to my cheap base model Lamborghini surrounded by Ducati and MV Agustas when not being driven. And about the time my new house and shop/man cave is finished, a 2018 ZR1 will be in there as well. I am blessed and fortunate to have an eight figure bank account.

Side note.....I grew up on Japanese crotch rockets, but my last bike was a Ducati Diavel (for those reading this that don't know anything about bikes it's a cruiser/sport bike hybrid). Best bike I ever owned! Sold it last year and I really miss it!

There are 12 threads asking the same question. All in where you post I suppose. ha. I'd def say ZR1. I'm just not a fan of the C7 styling. The overheating thing kinda put a bad taste in my mouth.. Also, LS9 responds better to mods (if that's your thing). Others have also mentioned, ZR1s are much more rare. I see C7Zs every day. But I'll break my neck trying to see a ZR1 that went by. But maybe the C7 ZR1 will blow our minds. IDK. Your call. But put me down for a C6 ZR1!

OP - if you're planning on getting the new ZR1 and want a rig to drive in the meantime, you should get a C6 ZR1 and then have a nice pair of ZRs when the new one arrives.

You see, I asked for opinions on both in their respective forums because I knew some opinions would be skewed. After waiting for some input and doing my own research, i decided I am getting a ZR1. So i posted a "WTB" thread in that forum.
Not sure where you count 12 unless you are seeing quadrapule or something to the effect.

But I highly doubt greater powers are at play here.
What is your profession?>
Excuse me if I am blunt. ..But I presume someone who is willing to mention the toys they have in their play box wouldn't mind sharing what allows them to acquire such "Blessed" things.

ZR1 is the king performance wise and the C7Z is clearly the king for amenities/modern features. So whichever means more to you is the way you should lean when choosing
