Seen a few scams when I was looking for my Z. If its too good to be true it prob is. If its dat low of a price a dealer would have gave her the money for it. THATS CHEAP for a z.

I spoke to the 'seller' on the phone- Couldn't tell it is was male/female. They said the car was 450miles from vancouver, and that it used to be in New Jersey.
Add with that a Ca phone number, and the fact that they said they would take cash only, no bank check, no cashiers check.
It seems rather fishy, not to mention it would cost 2k to go get it even if it did exist. I would be very careful with this deal guys. You really want to take 35k in cash to some random place in Canada, and possibly get robbed, buy a possibly stolen car, or watse time if there is no car at all?
With the prices of C6 Z's coming down anyways, you be better off with a no stories US car for mid to upper 30's, with ZERO chance of losing the $$.
I'm passing.

If they are saying "cash only" then it's a scam. I hate to think what their angle is...
but only a fool carries $35K in cash over the border and/or to a private sale. You could just as easily draw a certified check on the banking institution of the seller's choice, meet at her preferred bank branch and have them verify the funds before transferring title.
Any other way is asking for trouble or the seller is being unreasonably naive/difficult.
I change my vote to "walk away"

This has got to be a scam guys... Too good to be true. Only way to tell if its legit is if we have a forum member who is close enough to go check it out...

For this price, the car would've been sold within a few days. The fact that the car is still for sale should tell you it's a scam. She could take it to carmax or a dealer and sell it immediately for what she's asking. She could put a for sale sign on it and have it sold to anyone in a second just to make a profit.

wonder if any bored cops need something to check out. car could be vin cloned. something to be careful of with any private party sale. someone steals a car, takes the vin from a clean similar car, prints a title, prints a vin plate and rips you off for 35k
big money in this stuff and organized crime has the material to make the clones look real
always ask for docs, current registrations and a paper trail of where the car was bought as well as previous owners. also check the vin on the frame or firewall if we're talking other cars for any sign of tampering
the fact that dealers are usually more in tune with current pricing {at least with base cars} and you don't have to worry about being scammed really has shy'd me away from any private party sale without strong docs

I got a very low mileage 08 for 44k a few weeks ago. 35k for one with over 50,000 miles is conceivable. I think that guy with the blue 2008 Z06 in NYC still has his listed for sale for something around 39k.

Z06 for sale
Someone had run the phone number and stated it is from Richmond, California. I'm from the area and Richmond is know for crimes and criminals. They usually will ask for the money to be sent via "Western Union."
If someone has photos of the car, please send them to me or post them. Usually, the person gets the photos off of google. You can just do an internet search for "Z06" and look for the pictures you will probably find it.
