Custom color
Maybe a stupid question. . . but I was wondering what people thought about gettting a new C6 painted with a custom color?
Is it possible to take the car to a body shop and have them replace the paint job with a new one that is of the same quality paint job that the factory offers? Would it matter what color the car was originally? Better yet, is it possible to pay a premium, say an extra $5000 or so and request GM to paint the car a color it offers with one of its other vehicles?
thanks

Re: Custom color (Mark6)
Sure you could take your new C6 and have someone repaint it. If your paying for a new pint job why wouldn't you want it better than factory. A lot of people would say this wouldn't be hard to get. There's no way you will be able to get anything but the colors offered from the factory.

What does this have to do with a C6 for sale??? wrong section!!

I put this post here because it has to do with "purchasing a new C6".
I'm sorry, was there a "C6 paint" section that I should have used dizzy?

What does custom painting your C6 have to do with selling one???
Why would you not post in in the general C6 forum...

The post had nothing to do with Selling a new corvette but everything to do with Buying one.
And I was not just considering custom painting it but also requesting a different color (dark green) that GM offers.
As it turns out, my dealer just got back to me and stated that they CAN order different(custom) colors. However, the dealer has to do this for atleast 5 vehicles and thus they are normally unlikely to do this.
But I'm so sorry to have violated this message board thats owned by dizzzzy. Dizzzzy is smart, I'm stupid. Dizzy is good-looking, I'm ugly. Dizzy is a stud in bed, I'm just a putz.
Dizzzy for president!
You the man. How dare me or anybody else post anything on this message board without e-mailing the message to you first for prior approval.
I won't post another message here as we don't want to be wasting peoples time or cheapen a great web site (forum) with our bickering.

I thought it was an interesting question. BMW will do this but you have to use a color that is current somewhere in the world on the car and take ED for some reason. We tried to work it out with my wifes car but couldnt make the scheduling work with the ED so ended up with a stock color.

Re: Custom color (crabman)
I remember hearing a long, long time ago that you could get a Corvette from the factory in primer only. I think I also read that in the Corvette Black Book. Not sure if that is still an option.
