Default C6 Demand / Discounts...

Maybe its me,

I didn't pick up my C5 till 2000, which was about when the demand softened up enough for me to pickup a couple for appx 3500 sticker.
Seems like the initial demand for the C6 is no where's near the initial demand for the C5 (considering so many dealers were selling over MSRP and had waiting lists that were months long). Dealers - what are you seeing??? Hopefully this means earlier discounts for those of us who are waiting!

My personal view on the C6 demand is this, there isn't as much a drastic change between the C5 and C6 as there was between a C4 and C5. I contemplated shelling out $45k for a new C6, but changed my mind when you figure for $20-$25k you can find a very decent C5, spend another $15k-$20k or so and have a very stout C5, that no C6 or infact very very few other cars can compete with on the road today. At least thats my justification for just purchasing a 2000 MY 6 speed vs. a C6.

Default 2005 C6

My name is Kevin Reese and I work at Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, Texas. We are located minutes away from the DFW airport. We are quite a large dealership, usually #4 in the nation. We are currently selling the 2004 C6 for MSRP. There is no Additional Dealer Markup or dealer prep fees. Just the applicable tax, title & license.
We have already placed our 1st orders. I believe we have 11 ordered.
If you are interested we are taking a fully-refundable deposit of $1,000 to put you on the list.
If you have any further questions please feel free to call me toll-free at (800)259-1200.

Default Prices on C6

I was # 1 on my local dealers list for about a year, for a convertible C6. I previously had a 99 C5 Convertible that I got with 140 miles on it for $48,000 from the same dealer. When they called me for my deposit and order on my C-6, I took a black on black, MN6, FQ5 (manual and polished aluminum wheels) with the 1SB (HUD, sports seats, etc. package) out for a ride.

It wasn't as fast as my 96 Dodge Viper, which I sold later that day, and bought the C5 for $39,000 -- $9,000 off of MSRP new, built on 6/21.

I was knocked over by the deal, and for $9,000 I can fine tune suspension, chassis, engine, anyway I want, if I want to.

On the other hand, if the 2006 Z06 comes with a targa top, or even a sun roof, and a 500 hp engine (500 torque) like the current Viper, I'd be very likely to buy that if it is under $60,000, which would compare favorably against the Viper (discounted to about $74,000 new).
