Default APS C6 intercoled twin turbo system pics - C6

Hi Guys, Here's a new pic of the complete APS intercooled twin turbo system components to suit the C6 Corvette, the only parts missing from the pic are the heat shields for the cast ductile iron turbo exhaust manifolds, they will be added in the very near future.

The APS twin turbo system is complete with huge twin air to air bar and plate intercoolers, APS/Garrett GT3076R water cooled dual ball bearing turbos, 304 polished stainless steel exhaust components to connect up to the stock C6 exhaust system and a fuel supply system to support up to 650 whp (dyno jet power figures).

The base twin turbo system will yeild around 590 - 600 whp on 93 octane fuel with the stock Corvette exhaust system, this I'm sure will be more than enough mumbo for most guys and the base intercooled twin turbo should be capable of low 10's at around 140 MPH in the hands of an experienced racer on drag radials.

I've been greatly impressed with the overall flexibility and the fuel economy of the intercooled twin turbo LS2 engine, in slow bumper to bumper traffic conditions or on the freeway, a real drive joy to drive in all conditions.

The actual release date of the APS intercooled twin turbo system is still on schedule for mid April 06 if all goes to plan, if you have any questions regarding the APS twin turbo system feel welcome to ask any questions, there's no such thing as a silly question when it come to FI.

With so little parts install should only be $200-$300
What's the est. time for install?

The install price is yet to be finalised though my best estimate for the install would be around $2600 for the base APS intercooled twin turbo system.

Why you do not use single largest intercooler?

To allow higher air flow to the radiator for the best possible engine cooling and AC operation.

cooling is a huge issue on turbo/front mount intercooler cars. that little "split" between the intercoolers will really help get air in there and those intercoolers and silicone ducting are really high tech stuff.

beefing the rad might be a good idea too.

on the front mount intercooler cars getting the fans to pull enough air through the cooling stack with the ac on in traffice can be an issue.

I am more than impressed with both the quality and cost effectiveness of the kit.

bring it on pete!! keep up the good work and thanks for all the great posts.

I'm sure you're right. Engine cooling and AC performance are extremely important to many of the guys who live in warm climates. It's for that very reason that APS engineers went with two smaller intercoolers rather than one massive intercooler which would tend to impede on the air flow to the radiator and the AC condensor, especially at low car speed. A larger radiator option for guys who want optimum engine cooling in high ambient temperature is certainly worth serious consideration. A full flow engine oil cooler would also be a wise investment for the guys who are using full power frequently at high road speeds in warm climate regions.

Awesome to hear. I do believe that APS has covered most if not all of the critical engineering issues thoroughly to ensure a reliable day to day twin turbocharged Corvette though there's always room for improvement and that's always our attitude at APS, we are always looking at methods to improve performance and durability of components.

We are actually looking for a customer who wants one of these kits now. We had APS come out to our location and would like to see a few of these kits on the C6's if anyone is interested in buying these kits. Please contact us for more information regarding the kit. Thanks.

Rick
