Default APS Clutch line replacement

The APS installation instructions calls for the metal part of the clutch line to be cut, fitted with an adaptor, and reattached with their hose. Does anyone have a close-up pic of the APS hose/adaptor and the size of the adaptor that APS uses. The guide has their clutch replacement components covered by their fire sleeve. I need to replace my rubber hose also and need a reliable replacement method to do so. If their are any APS suppliers with replacment parts email me.

I assume you have already looked at the photos for items 100 & 101 in the Bill of Materials.

I skipped right over the bill of materials all day yesterday. Where can I get an exact replacement JIC nut and hose (item 100 and 101). Also how does that adaptor seal onto the metal pipe without the pipe being flared or without a separate compression sleeve?

Go to this thread and contact the guys in posts #7 & 8:http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-f...ps-tt-kit.html. They may be able to answer your questions.

The JIC fitting is really an AN fitting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JIC_fitting

I would recommend contacting Summit Racing by phone as they helped me with some fittings I used for adapting an upgraded scavenge pump.

I paid to have my kit installed so I can't say for sure how that adapter connects to the tubing and I would guess the hose length is dependent on how much tubing was cut out, probably 18" would work.

I contacted the company on post 7 and still waiting to hear back. APS seems to be getting harder to get in contact with.

Any good hydraulic hose/fitting store should be able to do this for you...

I emailed a hydraulic store and this was their response.

Chase,
Thank you for inquiring with us for your hydraulic needs. It looks like this would
be the correct fitting for you:

9605-04-L06-12

viewable here:

http://www.discounthydraulichose.com...15&Search.y=20

This fitting would need a nut and a sleeve which you can see here:

http://www.discounthydraulichose.com...17&Search.y=18

and here:

http://www.discounthydraulichose.com...34&Search.y=23

I hope this helps.
Thank You,
Rick Burke

Any thoughts on if this will actually work or not?

Chaser, I finally found and ordered the APS adapters, sleeve, and hose from Jeff at Next Level Performance (407-869-7223) for $95 + shipping. I went with the APS solution for the peace of mind that the adapters and hose have already been tested to ensure compatibility. Whereas finding the nuts, bolts, hose etc. all separate might have a slight incompatibility issue, cause a leak, and worse case scenario cause a fire.

Anyhow, at a glance your parts seem to be the right sizes and appear to be compatible. Only way is to find a good stainless braided hose and a fire sleeve, and test all the pieces together.

I finished replacing the line a couple of days ago. After a fresh fluid change to dot4 the clutch pedal seems to operate even smoother than before and I have a nice red sleeve to go over a STEEL braided hose. It was a good mod to do and I changed the oil for the first time since I owned the car.

Update:
The system is holding up just fine.

I ordered the system from Next level Performance in Florida. The total was right around $100 dollars for the items

Straight adapters 6mm olive x 7/16 JIC (item 101) (NEED 2)
Fire sleeve (item 100)
APS flexible clutch line (item 104)

You could use the tick line. That is what I've had for years.

Thanks, so essentially the same method as above. Could you link where you bought just that specific line?

Tick Performance. http://www.tickperformance.com/

Or any line shop in town. I could goto 10 different hydralic line places within 15 miles and have one made. Super simple. Just some crimped SS line.

Well you can do all that fancy **** if you want, but I just used the factory stuff and used a P clamp to pull the line away from the manifolds and it works great and it was like Free lol.

I was thinking about doing the same thing. How far did you have to pull the line away in order to clear manifolds for turbo?
