Also try Greg at blowerworks.net. Greg recently made a slotted pulley for my ECS Paxton Novi 1500. Greg can send you pics.

You will be way over the max RPM of that blower with a 2.5" pulley, just an FYI.

By a full 10,000RPM when the engine is at 6500RPM, and 25,000RPM if you shift at 7K.
The belt tension is also over 1500lbs so it is almost guaranteed to slip.

You're gonna push that YSi pretty hard with a 2.5" What size crank balancer? Flop Drive installed?
Arun told me not to use the Reichard style pulley because you'll have to pull really high tension on the belt to minimize slip. A Reichard will shred a highly tensioned belt. Arun recommended a smooth head pulley and high tension.
Arun ran a 10-rib and a 2.7" or 2.75" pulley.

I started with a 3.3", now with a 3.1" pulley on YSi on A&A. Next is a 2.9" - all Reichard. Next one to buy will be a smooth 2.7".

Yeah I have been known to overspin a head unit or two also.

(but I have an easier time getting them fixed if they break)

You must have belt slip already, you should be making a lot more then 14lbs with that combo. Good luck with your build

Do you have a stock tensioner on the car?

I am sure he is slipping, the last YSI I worked on was making 13 psi with a 3.125 pulley and a stock OD crank balancer.

We have a 2.75 with stock diam. crank pulley and we make alittle over 16psi on a 434Cu in. We use Reichard racing pulley also with ALOT of tension and it works fine.

Need to try that with a 8" crank now and see what happens.

You must have some slip. My 347 with a 3.125" pulley 8-rib + Innovator's West 8" balancer peaked at 18.7 psi with A&A YSi.

How much power are you putting down? Could you share a dyno graph?

Wonder what a YSI/427ci and a 10% OD with a 2.7 blower pulley and the flip drive would make?
