Default LS2: Does anyone just simply swap out pistons?

Tell me if this is would work. My idea is to simply swap out the pistons in my stock LS2 with forged dished ones to lower the compression, add a cam, upgrade the fuel system and then boost it to 15lbs or more to achieve 750-800whp.

With a goal of 800whp without doing the modifications below.
No Stroker kit
No new shortblock
No head work or intake swaps

Is this achievable?? If not, what am I missing...

hmm.. maybe. but with lower compression, i dont think you;ll hit 800 @ 15psi.

keep stock compression,

add ecs blower cam
send heads to get ported by TEA (1k) include upgrade springs installed
reduce pulley
remove restrictor plate.
c6z06 fuel pump with BAP
you might hit 800,

bottle neck will be your 1500 head unit. upgrade it to a 2200 and it would be a garrentee. oh yeah,, have ecs tune it too.

i hope your planing on putting some drag radials or some slicks on the rear. otherwise you'll still be watchin my taillights from 2nd gear rolls! p.s. i did some more tweaks and leaned it up some more, i was runing 11.0 afr, now im at 11.5 and no knock! 9.4 psi u dont stand a chance!

Stock compression would be too high to achieve 800whp at 17psi on stock motor(without relying HEAVILY on meth or race gas) I'm thinking if I drop the compression down to 9 or 9.5 I would be able to run 17psi and have a better total Compression ratio allowing me to run pump gas, plus a little meth for safety.

Is the head work absolutely necessary?

Here is what I'm thinking:
-26cc Dished Forged Pistons
ECS Blower Cam
Aeromotive Fuel pump, Fuel Rails
8 Rib
Remove Restrictor and maybe smaller pulley

Boost until power level is achieved ~17psi

Sound doable?

PS
Just so you know, I was olny putting 520 to the tire when I BEAT you. I since had it re-tuned to 570 Re-match anytime.

You will need methanol for lower IATs and more boost (19) psi with your suggested c/r to see 800rwhp, my system/setup takes 17psi to get me there... You will need a new fuel system as well, and if you don't already have them siemens 80lb injectors are highly recommended.

I would also go with forged rods while you have the pistons out. No need for head or intake work but you will need Meth, not to mention clutch, half shafts, and new tire set up.

All that needs to be said has already been said in this thread...

I have to put one more vote out there for going ahead and upgrading the rods rods while you've got them out!!!!

@ 800 RWHP it's not necessary - but ask yourself this question:

How many people that "Want" 800 RWHP actually ever STOP AT 800 RWHP??? We don't... Go ahead and plan for your compulsion now!!!
