With these kits being out for approximately two months now one would have figured we would have heard more about the horsepower and torque they are making in stock form.
The few posts that I have been able to find say the horsepower and torque levels are below what Edelbrock advertises.
Plenty of information on A&A and other quality kits making great power. So, if you have some information on the E-Force could you please post it.
Not sure where you are reading. But everything I have seen/done has been spot on or slightly better than advertised with supplied tune. With a custom tune the torque can be brought up significantly to match the HP.
Everything I read shows the kits to be spot on with what Edelbrock says, redline ran a kit with a mild cam with only 6.8 psi and made 633rwhp. That to me is fantastic for just under 7 psi.
I posted a result that is approx 10hp lower than the 599hp advertised and with an extremely mild tune and plenty of heat soaking. We could have gotten the 599 advertised - no doubts about it.
The 1591 is meeting my expectations and fore what tests are concerned I am finding 590 hp as hard to handle as 599 mostly due to that incredible torque boost.
Somehow I think they are making it up in shipping as well. We are an authorized distributor and installer and couldn't touch that price if we tried![/QUOTE]
That was what I thought too, but it's only $60 to ship!
How much of the shipping do you get to eat? The kit as shipped from Edelbrock to the vendors is 199lbs on a pallet...truck freight.
I got this from there website
Ground (3-7 Business Days) - $60.93
Includes $9.99 for oversize items.
Air (2 day) - add $29.99
Includes $19.99 for oversize items.
Air (1 day)- add $39.99
Includes $19.99 for oversize items.
this is shipping to AZ.
I get big dell servers that are 75lb to 150lbs that ship from TX to AZ via truck freight. The cost is around the $60 mark.
Edelbrock is located in CA.
That is a smoking deal!! the ONLY catch is Ecklers and this being a drop ship.
I have been burned on their customerservice, and with Edelbrock rumored to be 3 weeks behind schedule. One may get teh CC charged and then wait for 6 weeks completely in the dark with no recourse or folowup path.
I dont know if i could take 30 days of Eckler's customerservice telling me "Uh.. i dont know that not my department. Let me transfer you"
And for whats it worth. When i was at Barret jackson this year a local vendor selling these kits offered me a 'show special' that was at (or close) the Ecklers pricing.
soo tempting...

Wait, Edelbrock is about to release the E-Farse Kit for the LS2. Someone had a link posted on the forum to Edelbrock's web page looking for test vehicles.
Edelbrock is replacing the programers in all the kits that have not been shipped. On the tech web site they have updated ( 05/11/2010 ) software. I don't know what the latest changes are.

Updates to the calibration are to be expected. No big deal. Where did you get your info on the programmer issue you mentioned? What was the reason given for changing programers?
Motorhead-47, did you receive crank pinning materials with your E-Force Kit? I did not see crank pinning materials listed when reviewing Ecklers Site and their E-Force list of materials.
