Yea but that is in the 3rd gen forum. The 4th gen PCM's are much faster.

My car runs in PE until about 2psi of boost. I run mine leaner at lower boost too... but mine flies up to 10psi within a half second anyway and richens up. Boost enrichment instantly follows my manifold pressure.

Update:

Good news and bad news.

Ran a new personal best

10.665 @ 136.52

Then I tried to top that on my next pass which was going to be my last for the night. So I added 2 degrees of timing and launched the again off the two step at 3200 rpms.

Car broke loose and rpms hit 7000. Then the tires hooked. Bye bye rear end.

Rear end is locked up. Had to put a jack user the rear to pull it on the trailer. Haven't gotten to tear into it yet but it's not leaking anything.

I hoped it was just a half shaf. Remove that and drive home. Nope. Rear sounds like a box of rocks. Lol

Now to decide if I should convert to auto.

Some more bad news is I maxed out the boost controller at 90% duty cycle and only made 12.5 psi. Looks like I over ported the waste gate. But that's something on the back burner.

Here's the time slip.

And a pic of the sad ride home.

-Carl

Ps. I wonder where that puts me on the et list.

I'll sell you a T-56 core real cheap if you want to start the Z06 drivetrain swap. It needs a new cluster and input shaft... $789 in parts.

I'll keep that in mind. Would like to convert to auto but not looking forward to the cold nights in the garage.

F that. A turbo car is ten million times more fun with a 6-speed. I told myself I'd convert to an auto if my current setup doesn't survive just because if $10k into the drivetrain doesn't cut it, then I'll be pissed off enough to convert. Exhaust other options to keep the fun factor first!

Yea, it is fun to drive a stick. Until you goto the track and get beat by a car the has 300 hp less or weighs 2000 lbs more. Auto ftw

Sorry to hear that Carl. Car is moving for sure. Autos and Turbos were made for each other. Especially for roll races and strip cars.

Bummer mang. But not entirely unexpected I guess. Good time none-the-less. I donno about this whole auto swap thing. Just replace the diff and possibly the tail shaft of the tranny if it's bent. Done and done. Yes an auto will get you better ET's, but it's not nearly as much fun.

I've had both, and I feel an auto is much easier to manage and much better at the track (drag).

I sometimes miss shifting, but that's what second cars are for.

You'll get much better ETs from an auto. No doubt about that.

For the track, yea, an auto is way better... but I still maintain that driving a stick shift is more fun. If I had a track only car, I'd throw an auto into the car in a heart beat. However, I have a street car, so the six speed is staying as long as possible.

Auto is def quicker at the track, but I would have much rather had a manual for mine driving on the streets. Auto was a bit too unpredictable. Step into it and it would down shift, step out and it would up shift....there was no "pedaling" it for traction. Tried to shift manually, and the shift time was way too laggy, it would hit rev limit first. But shifts w/o loosing boost were amazing!

Carl, if you're going to be down for a minute, sounds like a good time to upgrade to the externals? PM me and I'll give you a smokin deal!

If you accidentally ported yours too much, I'd just switch to externals (which I have)

here is a scan log of the 10.66 pass.

never been able to tune it above 12 psi on the street, looks like i was pretty close, just need to add 1-3% here and there...

Just going to add this to my thread.

Nothing special but a new best.

682HP/739TQ.

It's going to need external waste-gates with stronger springs to make bigger dyno numbers. On the street it makes 14psi all the way, on this run it hits 14# but falls to 11.

AFR good, lil fat at peak tq, but that's ok, ZERO KNOCK, 16-14 degrees timing. and still plenty of Injector Duty Cycle left to turn it up more!

Car is for sale, check in the For Sale section for more info.
