Default GS Fuel Pump Same as Z06??

Has anyone actually taken the back end of a GS apart to get to the fuel pump, and seen with their own two eyes what kind of fuel pump was in a Grand Sport? Someone told me today that they installed the eForce system on a 2010 GS (mine is a 2011) a few months ago, and when they got everything off and looked at the number on the fuel pump, it was the same number that was in the eForce kit...the Z06 fuel pump. Can anyone confirm this? It sure would save me some money on the install. Also, if it is confirmed that this is the case in the 2010, can it be confirmed in the 2011?

Thanks.

-John

What I can tell you is that the replacement part numbers per GM is the same. When I questioned Edelbrock on this they called Lingenfelter who swore that the GSs did not have a Z06 pump from the factory.

We'll have to wait and see as I have a new pump sitting here that I expect to install over the next month or so.

This has come up before....if you walk into the local dealer to get a replacement fuel pump for your C6 regardless of year and Z06 or not, there is only one part number sold...it will be the Z06 pump. I know for a fact that in my 2009 (non GS) the pump that came out of my car from the factory was a different part number than the one that came in my Edelbrock kit.

What's the part number on the pump that came out of your car. Be nice if it (mine) was a ZO6, but I'm not that lucky.

One from my 2009 C6 Coupe.....

New one that came with the Edelbrock supercharger....

Just thinking out loud but it might be possible to slip one of those snake cameras up there and read a part number

Not to confuse things less, Motorhead, but he is talking about a 2010 GS not a 2009 non-GS. Is it possible that there is a difference or worth confirming on the 2010-2011 GS? I should have quoted him.

What would make you think an LS3 Grand Sport has any different fuel delivery requirements from a non Grand Sport LS3?

...besides...Taylor says it ain't so!

Nothing makes me think that. But, the op original post gives me thought that GM went to one pump that would work in both cars in 2010, maybe to save manufacturing cost. Why would the op lie about the part numbers? It's as simple as someone taking one out and checking. It will happen soon enough. I have no technical argument about. I am from Missouri though. Show me.

Following that thread...why didn't GM start using a single pump to save costs beginning with the introduction of the Z06 back in 2006?

No on said the OP lied about part numbers...what he said is something along the lines of "he heard from someone who heard from someone"...

Someone has already taken one out to check and has replied to this thread...a well known top shelf shop!

We proved this to be a myth back in a thread way back in March of 2010. The car in question back then was a 2010 Grand Sport Dry Sump MN6.

Like I said it would be worth a try to see if you can get one of those slimline snake cams up there and take a look...

Just used my Snap-on tool like the deWalt one shown above and looked at my 2011 GS vert 6 spd manual and the last four numbers on the tag are 4236..... NO Z06 pump it appears.

Did you snake that camera in from below or follow the fuel filler hose down?

I went in from inside the tunnel area... The car happened to be apart today for a clutch install.
