**LETS TALK ABOUT 19inch DRAG RADIALS**

The NT05 19's look pretty on my car but even at 19psi are no better then ice skates at 60mph and under, I will spin a little at 70 but not that bad. go with the 18's you can get a forgestar f14 at a very good price trust me. Unless you are under like 600 hp I would not use the 19

Stick or auto?
What gear?
My car makes 635/580 thru an A6 with a stock converter and 2.73 gears. Granted it's only going low 1.70 60 footers at the track (stock gear and converter), but on the street, it always hooks and books. No matter the speed or gear, the tire works. On the factory tire, my car will just about spin sideways on a 80MPH kick. With these, I can kick it at 20 and not have to worry about spin.

The NT05R's suck with any more than 700-750rw.. At the track they are ok, but the street they were horrible after 750rw.. Honestly not much better than an Invo on the street.

I find it interesting that some guys with 600-750ish hp say the NT05Rs are a good tire and hook pretty good, and others say that they are bad and don't hook up except for strip.
It is hard to find a Great tire that will hook with 600hp + on the street!
Just trying to find the best tire for street with 700hp without getting true slicks! There will always be a trade off!
FOR STREET USE AND SOME TRACK VISITS, WHICH TIRE HOOKS UP BETTER, M/T OR NT05Rs???

If the majority of the time is spent at the track, then get the Mickey T's...
The all around street manners of the NT05R (especially in the rain) is far superior to the MT.... However, the bite at the track that the MT provides is pretty undeniable........
I've run several sets of the NT05R and love them. Unfortunately (and I can't explain why), when the tires get about half-lived I get a realllllly bad wheel hop problem at about 90 MPH when I hit it from a roll. Odd sounding, I know.

I think you'll find that most of the 850+ RWHP crowd will say if the majority of the time is spent on the street, then get the Nittos.

Do the NT05Rs have a stiffer sidewall than the MT Radials?
For a mostly street driven car I'd be looking for one that kept at least SOME of the handling characteristics.
And how many miles are people getting out of the NT05R? Are you able to get 10k (assuming not a lot of burnouts or 1st gear digs). I know the 555R could go about 15k, but that was a harder compound.

I chewed up a pair of NT05r's in 3-4k.. Just hwy rolls 60mph+ hits mainly.. They are a very streetable tire, they do seem to have a stiffer sidewall, as they don't wallow around as much as the MT..

Yes, my MT's lasted longer too.. The NT05R feels like a softer compound when you push into it with your thumbnail.. Im guessing the compound is softer to try and balance out the harded sidewall.. They do not last long..

Well after debating for a few months, I have decided to go with the NT05Rs. I think these will be the best fit for me as I do mostly street driving with only a few track visits. I want to keep my car a street car and the stiffer sidewalls will help keep handling in order! I will post up how they fit on a 19x11 wheel and if a mini tub will be needed.
This is a pic of my 325/30/19 Invos that are on my car now, the 345s will be about .75 wider!

It was really nice meeting you this weekend at LSX FEST in Bowling Green. Had a great weekend and saw a lot of really fast and nice cars. I will PM you just in case you do not get this post. Good luck with the car and we can share war stories anytime. Talk with you soon....
