Extreme Widebody TTi-X 427" transformation build thread
Hey All,
Over the last 6 or so months, I have taken on the task of building a ground up C6. We literally stripped the car to its bare frame, and built it up from there. We pretty much didn’t leave anything un touched.
We’re about a week away from firing it up, so I decided to share with you what we have done so far. We focused primarily on cleanliness, and reliability. However, we also focused on being different than all the other builds. This was by far our largest, and most in depth build. We took the car all the way to its frame, leaving only the dash in place.
The car started out as a 2005 Z51 that I bought off this forum from a rich 21y/o kid, who beat the **** out of the car. I have never seen such a disrespected vehicle before in my life. Within the first week of buying it, we had it torn down, and ready to start rebuilding.
Below, is a partial list of the stuff we have done.
Body:
Interior:
Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tires
Motor, Valvetrain & Drivetrain
Forced induction, Fuel, & Cooling:
Obviously, there is about a thousand other things that were done, but Im sure based on the pictures you get the idea. We also paid special attention to wiring and hoses. If we could hide them, we did so. Many of which we completely re-routed in order to make them disappear all together. It was our goal to make just the motor stand out. By painting the intake manifold, and using CF valve covers, the motor looks unbelievably clean.
Now for some pictures.
I will add more as I go, so stay tuned..You can also view my entire photobucket folder which shows all pictures to date.

Thanks!!
It'll look even better once my CF valve covers show up. Notice how I blacked out all of the accessories? I even had the brake m/c powdercoated satin black. The only one left to do is the throttlebody, and the fuel rail itself.
You cant tell, but my entire fuel system is hooked up. I made it so that you cant see ANY lines at all. Even the injector wires are routed under the intake.

The downpipes in the pictures are the champion 3" ones.
We are modifying our T4 3" kit, and relocating them to the bottom because the drivers side wastegate only has about a 1/16th of an inch of clearance on both sides (between the valve covers and brake booster.) This is why they are currently not on the car.

Its the only color for me...
We figured if we were going to do a shop car, the ONLY logical color was the colors of our shop (Black and Orange). I tried to keep it tastefull though. While it is a loud color, it is a marketing car. They are supposed to grab your attention.

Heres a few more pics...
As you can see in the pictures, we sprayed the engine bay and frame gloss black. This REALLY sets off the motor. Mainly because it hides everything else, so all you see is the motor.
The coils DO have protection, and are completely safe & out of the elements. These photos just dont show the enclosure.
