I had high-flow ceramic cats on my 750hp blown 427 ls7 truck and they help up pretty well. Most of the cats I see coming apart are from cars that have methanol injection, or a bad tune.

Im guessing an overly rich mixture the whole time isnt the solution either, 11:1 AFR all the way plus PROPER amounts of timing and leaving the COT on along with the PE/COT adder table and you should be fine, like greg said everyone zero out that table and turn COT off even on factory cars.
