Belt squeal on startup with flip drive...
Anyone else had this problem? My car has the flip drive on it and its not the blower belt that's squealing. I know this for a fact because its not even on the car at the moment. It's either the a/c belt or the other belt running the remaining accessories. It only seems to do it on cold starts and it will squeal for a good 30 seconds or so and then go away. I know it can't be anything major but its more than annoying.
Anyone else had this squealing on startup with a flip drive and what did you do to fix it?

mine would do that to, it was slipping on the Alternator pulley had to tighten it up more than the instructions say..... mine is the Cartek Flip Drive, not a direct drive....
When its squealing get out and just unplug the alternator, and that will tell if its the one squealing or not...

A/C is always off on my car unless I have a female with me. Lol
It's a Dallas direct drive. I'm going to try unplugging the alternator tomorrow and see if that changes anything. It always starts about 5 seconds after I fire it up and lasts about 40 seconds and then goes away. But it happens every cold start. Once it been running and warm... Like if I stop to grab gas and restart it, it doesn't do it. Only after its been sitting awhile.

alt may need a rebuild or just a tighter belt

I have the Dallas direct drive as well and had to tighten the crap out of it to get it to stop squeeling. I actually put a medium sized feeler gauge in between the alternator pulley and the tensioner pulley when I tightened the belt

I run the green gates HD belt on the blower but the other belts are just standard black belts.
Ill try unplugging the alternator. It charges fine and everything so maybe I just need to tighten it up some more. Ill prob to ahead and swap all the belts for new ones while I have the blower off.
Are there higher grade belts available for the a/c and the accessories like there is for the blower?

Just an update... I tightened the tensioner on my accessory belt on the Dallas direct drive bracket and no more squeal!!! Had to tighten the **** out of it but I got it pretty snug and still have a lot of room to go tighter if needed so problem solved!
