Default LS7 crankshaft in FI application

Just seeing what power levels the forged stock LS7 crankshaft has been taken up to and what are the pro's/con's of it versus aftermarket cranks (Callies, Manley). It will be going in a sleeved ERL block with doweled mains. I have one laying around and wanted to see opinions on it - shooting for 1000rwhp. I know I've seen one hit over the 1000rwhp mark on the forums here.

I'd guess it's stronger than a stock 3.622" crank in most of the ls stuff. Biggest problems is the light bobweight due to being balanced with titanium rods. When you put some aftermarket rods and pistons in it you will have to add mallory metal to the bobweight and that makes for an expensive balance job.

Well I'm not with the consensus lol. I've used stock LS cranks at over 1K to the wheels and the LS7 cranks are made out of better material not quite 4340, but better than the nodular iron of the other LS stuff. With a turbo set up I wouldn't be afraid of 1200+ but it does only save you about $500 over a Callies etc.. because of having to add so much heavy metal so it isnt a huge cost savings. GL!

Exactly what ^^^^. At that point you might as well buy a calles/etc if you are going to pay $500-600 to balance it for heavy pistons/rods.

Thanks for all the info, figured since I already have it would be good to see if it could work. Will probably just sell and go Callies/Manley.
