Default Powerbond 10% OD balancer

Wish me luck guys. I'm hoping the 10% overdrive 8 rib balancer from Powerbond is going to work with my A&A kit. I just ordered it tonight, so hopefully it will be here later this week. If it doesn't work I'll just bite the bullet the get the Innovators West 10% OD balancer. $237 vs $508 is a big difference though.

If you are already 8-rib I think it will be fine. I'm more curious if it's actually 8" diameter. Keep us posted.

I have a six rib right now. It's weird because it's listed as 10% overdrive, but says 7.5" diameter like their standard size pulley.

If it is 8" diameter it will probably hit the bracket without pulling the bracket and milling the corner off.

In order to run the 8-rib balancer you need to convert your bracket to 8-rib spacers, idlers, s/c pulley, etc. Then if you don't have a accessory drive of some kind you can just use a 6-rib belt on the 6 grooves closest to the engine side. Then later, if you add a accessory drive of some kind you can throw a short 8-rib belt on the s/c side.

I think you suggested this on my post a while back. Decided to wait until I go 8 rib on the whole setup which ill do when I forge the block.

I ended up just using the Powerbond stock size 6 rib pulley with a Dallas Performance direct drive. So far my belt isn't slipping with a 3.125" blower pulley.

Gotcha, I'll be running a 3.6 for now which should be alright until I forge the engine soon. Then I'll pulley down and go to an 8rib setup with an 8 rib balancer...didn't want to have to replace the balancer twice. My tuner thinks the stock pulley is perfectly fine for now.

You will be fine, I've gone as small as 2.87 6-rib with a accessory drive and didn't have any belt slip. Trapped 144mph stock bottom-end LS3 & 6L80E.
