Grannas racing have faceplated Magnums, presumably Liberty

I think someone mentioned Liberty also do a custom gear dog box based around a Magnum too...ie not using OEM gears ? which is maybe one of the options RPM are doing ?

For Price of PPG Seq.....could nearly go GTR !

Thanks for the info...I will check into those options. Doing Mile racing only but will be running about 1100rwhp and with nos, 1400 so I think I need something soooon! Will only use the nos when at the mile but I have been told that my trans will last about one run. Yikes, would hate to have 5th go at 215-220mph...could be dicey.

Thing is...not that many run 5/6 at high power. Some of the really fast cars run diff's etc so that top speed can be achieved in 4th....or run a much lesser overdrive ratio on 5/6 which will allow those gears to be stronger.

But then other ratios might suffer for normal use.

I broke 2 boxes last year, regular uprated T56's. One exploded the 5/6 slider, the other just ripped the teeth off 5th gear. Opted for a Magnum now. Seemed the best value fairly well proven option.

RSG claim they do a 9310 gear tranzilla which will hold 1000, 1100hp or whatever. As soon as I mentioned using 5th gear for top speed stuff...their tune changed and said their ratings are based on 1-4 only. **** that

Grannas are Supra guys...but they have some bloody fast car running pretty much stock Magnums. That was enough for me to go down the same route without wasting a load extra.

Can only guess...maybe 1000-1100 or so when doing top speed type stuff. Non Vette. So regular T56/Magnum variant in a heavy brick shaped car...

To be fair on the T56 though, it did stand me well for many years ( "built" cryo'd then faceplated at a alter time etc etc ). I always knew 5th would be a weak spot though. But I broke 2, 2 weeks apart !!
Stripping the teeth was off a totally stock T56 I kept as a spare. Both the 0.74 5th

My magnum has the shorter 0.83 5th....It wasnt really what I wanted as the 0.74 easily takes me to over 200 in 5th. But without getting the box custom built and buying new gears...retaining 0.74 wasnt an option. And the shorter gears will be stronger...and the event I do each year dropped distance from 1km down to 1/2 mile last year anyway. So I just figured sticking with the original Magnum gearset just made the most sense..
And it's wonderful going back to syncros from that damn faceplated box ! I ******* hated that for road use lol

looking really good! Where did you get the bodywork from? I see team insane racing are using a carbon body as well? Maybe you need to sell them one of your gearboxes!

hows the turbo kit coming along? Did you get a pair of GT55s in there with the tube frame? Haha

Thank you! CFC CarbonFiberCustoms made
body panels in Greece.
No GT55, went to GTX45’s, and they sits nicely. Body and frame work just some small things left and some turbo kit parts need fabricate. Pic also below to prove there still is factory HVAC

Thats easy part.. All factory electrics are off the car, all electrics coming up using Motec products. Example for body I have three PDM15s.
