Anyone try these out?

Any prediction on how much these outperform Et Street IIs?

Anyone?

I got my 325 ET street R tires last week. At 1030rw my 345 18" et streets 2 was not hooking well from a 2nd gear stab with 18 psi cold pressure. Now with the new Rs I can dead hook 2nd gear from any speed. It also have good stability on high speeds for a 15" tires.

Comparing a 15" to an 18" isn't exactly a fair comparison but the Rs are a bit more like a Hoosier from what I have seen.

I just want a good tire that's grippy has good Traction, comes in a 315 and won't murder me in the rain.

Become a physics/chemist major and do some research and invent a new tire compound and retire.

As far as I know, it doesn't exist.

Back when NA the Michelin Super Sports fit that bill perfectly. Great grip, great handling, great rain driving, and lasted a good while.

Going boosted that went out the window now it's too much power for a street tire.

Just going from 345 ET street 2 to the 325 ET streets is a world of difference. The question is how much better is the new tire compared to the old. I'll run the new ones once I kill my current 325s but I bet I get another year or more out of them.

i talked with mickey thompson yesterday, and they say these new street r's are great tires, better than the et street ii's (of course they say that). I know they are the same compound as the pro radials which everyone loves- they are 15's though.

The question i can't get answered... is if they are better than the m&h racemasters traction wise. Not many people have received/tested the street r's yet.

the two tires i cannot decide between: 325/45/17 racemasters or 305/45/17 et street r's.
I am guessing the racemasters are a better tire for high hp on the street. I wish someone had experience with both

Once my racemasters are done I am considering trying those MT's. The only thing that might stop me is they have to be just terrible in the rain. They have no lateral grooves at all. I would also want someone to actually measure them on a car. If they are any higher than the M&H, that could be an issue too.

i suspect they will be useless if the street is wet at all, due to the tread design lol. i just dont see any reason to test them unless there are rave reviews. The m&h's are 20mm wider and are KNOWN to work on the street. i am hoping these new street r's are the magic solution to high hp traction, fingers crossed. i will not be the guinea pig though.

It wouldn't surprise me if they hook better than the M&H, but I still don't know if I want to try them. I don't go out in the rain, but can still get stuck in it once in a while.

what is your power level and which size m&h's are you running? I havent found anyone disappointed in the m&h's. if the street r's came in a 325 i would try them. i just dont want to drop 600 and instantly regret it if they dont hook up in 2nd.

Running the 325/45/17 with 1000 rwhp. Trust me, they don't hook in second unless you air them down and warm them up. This through an auto so cant speak for stick cars.

Oh, and I am not disappointed in them, Best I have tried to date.

So what do you guys think going from 345/35/18 ET Street II down to 305/45/17 Street R, more sidewall but a lot less width, could i possibly have better traction with 305/45/17 over 345/35/18 Street II?

Also, has anyone gone from 345/35/18 ET street II to 325/45/17 Racemasters and how did that play out?

Thx

Yes, 305 could hook better.

My 325 ET streets hook way better than my 345s. And the 275 ET pros hook better than both. Width is totally overrated.

Height/sidewall trumps width every time. Width is for looks. You would be surprised how fast people have been on an 8.5" tire..lol

Some guy on FB claimed to be using the new MT's. I asked him to measure the installed height and no response. That is what I need to know before I buy some.
