seems like many other places I can waste money on my car with more hp return.....

shoot, for $1k I could buy stand alone and spray 100 shot on it and help with IATs too.
You bet, I was making 1580 on a ported LS7

The High rise holley elbow setup was chosen for more high rpm power, the ability to run a direct port nitrous system and eventually dual injectors.

Also looks the part:

Sinistter any reason for going for the carb intake over the Holley high ram or one of the short runner sheet metal intakes?

Bumping from dead. Looking at doing the new Shearer fab modded holley. I've known Ron for 15+ years. His stuff always works well. Trying to find a hood that clears it and looks nice with some vents. I know the RK sport supercharger hood clears, but hoping the ACS hoods do to.

May just cut stock hood for now.

Back to back testing with normal high ram on 1200+hp car showed zero difference in power. So that is good. Once I figure out my hood options probably going this route.

What intercooler?

No, my intercooler works wonderfully. Saw <90F at end of 1/2 mile on 80F day. Before it was 120+. Car runs cool, works great. My intercooler is amazing.

That doesn't seem too terribly crazy vs some of the others

The plazaman is $3200 and comes with billet valley cover/etc etc. Problem is any of the super short runner ones lose a ton down low. A 6060/t56 won't shift at 8k, and even struggles at 7400-7500. Plus the valve train/etc to support those RPMS. I want something that is strong 5-7k without killing all the low end. You need runner length for that.

Fully ported from Tony Mamo. Problem solved.

That stays together....

Seen WAY WAY WAY too many fast come apart. Hell a stock intake that is far more robust is coming apart. My motor is worth way to much to downgrade to a fast.

The new FAST intakes are a lot more robust than the earlier ones. 2-3 pounds heavier per intake according to Tony Mamo. Had a long conversation with him about them before buying one for a boosted application. I was just looking at the desired RPM range mentioned for power at 5K to 7K and the FAST is perfect for this. I'll have to live with my downgraded parts I guess. Imagine if I had the good stuff.
