PM sent. After more research and a few friends having them, wouldn't touch one over a LSX block.

Sounds like there was a design change to help stop cylinders from dropping. Do you know if any of the issues you've seen were before or after that?
I don't have a dog in this fight.. just curious.

Only complaints I've heard is dropping sleeves and lifting heads due to the aluminum block flexing. From what im told. They was having issues with sleeves from a outside provider. They started making their own sleeves and flanging them. They said since then they've had zero failures. As far as lifting heads. They offer 6 bolt 1/2" head studs. I've heard allot of good things and a few bad.

A friend if mine has been running that exact same ERL block for about a year. He's running a billet impeller YSI at around 20# making ~1200 wheel hp. It's a 6 bolt block, but since he has a lot of money in his stock LS7 heads he is running them until he has issues with them. So far, no issues.

Is the cogged balancer working well for you?

Cogged balancer is one of the best things I've done. Zero issues with it besides the balancer coming apart, which had zero to do with the cog. Only setup that has been reliable for daily/high power.

They probably didn't take the steering rack out and tried going over it. I took the rack out and slid it forward 8" or so and it broke free. I kept it as level as possible.

I just got back from a 5 hour trip to ERL on only 2 hours of sleep. Now I have a 10 hour work shift ahead of me. It needed to be done though. Shipping was over $150 and it only cost me $10 in gas. She'll be a resleeved fully forged 6 bolt 427ci block in approximately 8 weeks. I'm probably going with Trickflow 255x LS3 6 bolt heads and use the LS3 intake manifold. I thought about switching to a LS7 style head and use a OEM LS7 intake. I'm not sure the power gain is worth the money though.

sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! one time I put >350 miles of clutch break in driving in 2 days before an event just listening to work calls and literally driving around stop and go 12-14+ hours for two days...haha
