Great! I assume that's a LT1 louver? Or ZL1? I may consider doing that, but I don't know if I have the marbles to do it myself lol

I think this is the part number 22828242 for it. Man just the thought of something so simple helping with the cooling makes it very tempting.

Just take your time and measure very carefully. I started by cutting a piece of cardboard to make sure it will fit. I made my cut inside my line and took some sand paper and sand it down by hand til it fit.

I just don't trust myself for this kind of surgical procedure. How did you take your measurements to find the middle of the hood and how many inches is sitting from the back of the hood?

I measure 7 inches from the top corners, marked it and measure from point to point. Found the center . Same on the bottom. Then drew a straight line down the middle. I cut 7 inches from the top

Thanks! Now I have somewhat of a reference to go by if I decide to grow a pair lol Not but for real now, I know that measuring and cutting isn't a big deal, but if mess up it's going to cost me a hood! Plus hearing my wife for a long time!,

Yeah I bet that all they see is the hole on the hood and not the final product. I keep going back to the pics with it finally installed and it just looks nice!!

I always thought this would be a cool idea, Can you guys with the vent inserts get some pics of the whole car, They look good up close just wanna see how they blend with the rest of the car. I really like the mustang inserts.

I'll get some pictures later this week. I'm gonna go ahead and cut my hood liner and see how it looks with it also.

Yea its pretty simple.. If you draw any line on hood, then measure to left side from center get a number say 25, then measure from center to right side get a number say 25 then you are dead center... lol draw out stencil then eye fk it for about an hour and see if you are 100000% sure you love it.. Then commence the cutting with any dremel or blade.. Need to figure out what kinda blade im gonna use on this.. Prob need a trip to lowes..

That looks almost perfect. I was interested in vents myself but couldn't find any that worked. I installed a shaker scoop on my Mustang and it was scary but went on easily. Is there a trim piece around the sides or anything? Looking into buying one myself now.

Edit: Ah I see now the top piece covers up the cut and then clamps on underneath. So needs a fairly decent cut to look good under the hood,

Hey GM didn't have a issue doing it to the rear of a c7 lol

OP looks great think I may go that route!! How does it sit inside the hood or I should say how is it secured? Or is it just a snug fit?
