See post #31. Not quite a C7 vent, but pretty darn close. I actually prefer this vent over the C7 Vent as far as aesthetics are concerned with matching the C6 hood lines.

I agree. Not saying Trackspec looks that cheesy, but I do believe the camaro one does look more OEM.

The Trackspec one reminds me of window louvers and therefore not very durable. I admit I haven't seen one in person, so I could be wrong. I don't really care for the exposed screws either. I guess that could possibly lend to more of a racer look though.

Either way, I love seeing everyone doing mods to their Vettes!

trackspec is made of metal and has been tested on standing mile cars to 200mph. I prefer the open visible rivets but to each their own.

I just put the Tracspec vents on my mile car and have so far been very happy. I did end up with the center vent further back due to the Procharger and plumbing. Car felt far more planted at speed.

As far as look, my car has 3/4" angle iron bolted to the roof so my opinion is not valid!!

212 mph so far in testing my car.. And the vents are strong enough to grab the hood off the car with.

I think it wouldn't sit well, as there is a valley that runs down the center of the hood on the C5. Maybe if you're willing to do some body work and fill in the low spot where the vent meets the valley in the hood. Seems like a lot of work though.

the two side vents may be a better option in this case.

I still have the piece I cut out. Mine fit perfectly. I could transfer the pattern to something I could put in a mailbox.

Those wanting templates I will make 8 to send out just PM me your address and send me a small $5 fee via PayPal to cover everything. This is what you will receive. This is poster board so it should be easy to transfer the pattern.

I joined the club. Wet sanded 400 grit then painted the aluminum tabs black. Standard stock from HW store. Remove foam, dremmel the vent ridges off of the top stud locations to get it to sit flush. 8" from the top. It touches one letter on my FAST 102.

It is fine as is. Yes, it just happened that the very highest point that is the lettering on the FAST exactly lined up with the lowest part of the vent. I got a bit unlucky. 10 seconds with dremel and problem solved.

The hell with....I'll be the first C5 guy to give it a shot. Just placed my order with Cultrag so at some point this summer I'll give this a shot. Car runs cool as it is, but last year we got caught in stop and go rush hour traffic in Chicago for hours on DW so every little bit will help.

Did the vents you guys bought came with the brackets to hold it from the back?
For example these
