Default Gates Belts - k060891 or k060895 - no Heavy Duty Green???

According to Gates - they do not make the Heavy Duty "green stripe" belts in the k060891 or the k060895 - which, as I understand it...are the belts you need for the ECS kit on a ls7.

Doug - what are you recommending we use - the regular k060891 Micro V AT Belt?

Thanks,

jb

Don't worry about it. Normal gates or a gatorback work great. I'm not sold on the green belts. They are stiffer, and seem to slip easier, but last marginally longer in my experience.

Well said, I prefer the normal Gates over the gatorback just because it has more belt surface area without those notches, but either work fine.

I still think ECS should contact gates and see about getting the blue belts made in their sizes. Would be a nice touch. The blue belts rock.

Hi all, this is the Gates Corporation Automotive Product Applications Team. My name is Chad. If the OP called Gates on Monday I spoke with you, if not I spoke with someone else regarding these belts.

I came across this post while digging into these belt sizes and thought to myself "how interesting!"

As you may know Gates currently offers these belt sizes in a standard construction. I talked to the belt product manager and relayed the information from my phone conversation.

Since the belt size mold was already available we set up Heavy Duty FleetRunner as well as Racing RPM belts constructions. These belts should be hitting the streets by the end of September.

One thing to note is the RPM label will be switching from a blue to black color although the construction will remain the same.

Without feedback from you guys we would not have known there was a market for HD/RPM belts in these sizes.

Thank you,

Chad

Please make them in DD sizes too, in 10 rib. I would love a blue/racing 10 rib belt. The high HP ECS guys are running 10 52-52.5" belts.

Do you have a PK number I could reference? It doesn't have to be ours. Should be a 10PKXXXX.

The blue look pretty nice though. Would be cool to keep the color, but not a big deal.

I have sent a note to the product manager regarding getting a K100535RB set up. We currently don't offer an RPM belt over seven ribs so we shall see what the manager says.

Thanks for your interest everyone!

Thank you for taking us in consideration. I'll be certainly looking to buy a racing one when the current one fails.

I'm trying to move this forward but I have a couple questions for you guys:

1. What type of charger(s)/vehicle(s)/combo(s) uses this ten rib setup?

2. Approximately how many of these chargers that use this setup are out there?

Please provide any specifics you can.

Thanks!

Damn, that's sweet to see a belt company on here. I've probably spent a few thousand dollars on gates belts with 4 blower kits. I trashed 4 HD 8 rib green belts in one night on a dyno.

I also don't run green belts anymore. Unreal, some of us pullied down on YSI's are still running 8 rib setups. Not sure there is actually more 10 rib setups than 8 rib setups yet. I know that Doug has gone strait to the 10 rib setup on the YSI/2200r blowers, but plenty of us are ticking along ok on 8 ribs.

Quick Reply: Gates Belts - k060891 or k060895 - no Heavy Duty Green???
