Thanks for the write up Hopefully I don't need to do any of this for a while but it's good to know...
What's the procedure for tightening this tensioner?

I've never messed with a flip drive so Arctic knows better than me.. but on the regular setups you don't need to mess with that one when changing supercharger belts
If you do have to remove it to get to the AC belt, etc. it's easier if you loosen the bolts on the motor mounts (from underneath the car.. two bolts go through the front cradle so they are super easy to get to). Then use a jack with a piece of wood on it to raise the engine up a little bit. That will give you a little more room to work
Otherwise that part is just about touching the steering rack and really tough to work with

The threaded part is an alignment adjustment for the spring loaded supercharger tensioner. You can basically angle it in or out to better match up with the belt

Gotcha. Yeah I don't know any way to do that. Basically the stock tensioner is responsible for holding the AC belt tight.. and it's not the strongest thing in the world by any means
A lot of new cars are using tensioner'less belts, especially for AC compressors. You might could find the right sized one of those to work with our cars and go that route?
Just an idea.

Schpenxel is correct, that nut in the center simply is for alignment not tension. There is no tensioner there as it is spring loaded. So more tension isn't an option really from that point, which is why on the procharger kit they have a tensioner under the flip pulley (where it says HORMILLA).

ECS kit doesn't provide that with their kit, not even sure if that's an option but that's a good point and I think it should be.

Yup. Btw a little birdie told me that tensioner below the flip pulley is worth d*€< so guess thats a dead issue.

Ah yeah that's the one I meant
I see now... that one is just an idler. The original "AC" tensioner is the only thing that puts tension on the yellow belt
No wonder it slips.. that AC tensioner is weak as ****

Thinkin out loud.. So when u get a chance think about this. What if that weaksauce ac tensioner moved up when going WOT giving more slack in belt and it catches and causes it to snap. Maybe thats the culprit.

I'm wondering what it would take to make a stronger tensioner to go in the AC spot. BMW has some strong ones but I don't know if they could be made to fit or not

It needs a manual tensioner like the blower has vs the spring loaded bs
