Ecs ac bracket and tensioner question.

That idler looks different from what is on mine. I wonder if they switched brands or something and the new ones are larger.
Either way they will get it fixed up. No reason to stop with the rest of the install. You can get everything done besides putting the belt on. Then when new idler/tensioner/whatever shows up, just swap it. That is all serviceable with the complete kit on. No reason not to move on and get everything else done.

This is how it should be, we have not made any changes in that bracket in years and we run those in sets of 200 at a time, so I do not understand the difference one these handful of cars. Same with the idlers, granted it's not going to touch when the belt is installed, and if the belt was to break the car can't run long without the WP spinning. Our idlers are HD steel/zink coated, so they wont just tear right up like aluminum or plastic would.

so to those of you having this issue that are also running $600 balancers, don't worry about the $40 idler it will be fine

Unless your on the race track or talking about sales numbers I guess huh?
Why do so many vendors spend much less time on here? Oh yeah, that's right, now I remember.

We make our parts, which means we can also make a change if someone needs something outside of the norm when we offer it. This would be something we would offer if necessary. In this case it is already made, we would swap out the part for the OD bracket N/C.
Come to think of it, why the hell am I answering you? Run along, run along now.

Ok Doug,
I have the ECS kit. I also have an IW balancer. My tensioner looks a lot like the one posted on the first page. Am I going to have problems? I have not installed my kit yet. Please let me know either through here or PM.
Thanks

Should have zero issues. Mine doesn't touch, along with 1000s of others. If it does, which I doubt it will, then adjust it or get a different one from them. You should have no issue, just like 99.9% of ECS owners out there.

Over drive balancers need a tensioner bracket that is slightly different (specifically for over drive balancers). Make sure you have the right one.

Burning Brakes
Everyone needs to relax. There are a few cars that have had this issue. My car has the same issue and I put 9,000 miles on it, with out a belt adjustment and had no issues. Just oil changes. With that said, Doug and the guys still want me to swap it out just to be sure I won't have any down the road.
