INTRODUCTION
Link to original F1R build HERE
I haven't been posting much here lately so apologies to some of my Corvette friends
I have been enjoying my F1R build and certainly enjoying the 900+whp that came with it. I was however caught in hard place in terms of power level. The cars I run around with here in West Texas, as well as the classes I placed in during TX2k and other roll events, always had me in the bottom of the 150-155mph pack. I always ran quick enough to have fun, but was always coming up short in the MPH to actually place. The F1R was simply out of air on my 431ci LS7 and was petering out a little after 6krpm. The car previously was a H/C/N build so I reinstalled a full bottle and BAM, along came an extra 125whp and loads of torque. This was fun but what wasn't fun was having to change head gaskets after each event. I think the added cylinder pressure from the nitrous was just too much for my 4-bolt motor and LS7 heads to handle. I would always end up pushing a bit of water after a hard nitrous pull.
I made the decision last month to just bite the bullet and do a LSx block and some 6 bolt heads. The problem is, who in their right mind would do that and not just go F1X as well? The F1R sold lightning fast and the car is already having the motor removed as we speak. Scoggin Dickey's (SDPC) brand new machine shop will be assembling the short block and re-using my previous rotating assembly that saw less that 500 miles.
The fuel system is already complete and way overbuilt for E85. I am thinking of going flex fuel while the car is down. Being able to run 91 octane in emergencies is nice IMO. I am already using an RPS triple carbon clutch as well so that is taken care of. Which head stud kit do you guys recommend?
I will try to keep you guys updated as I did before. Power goal is 1050-1100whp. Before anyone asks, NO the car is not at AMP unfortunately (yet). We'll be doing the R&R of the long block here locally and then I plan on taking it there for the tuning and other fun stuff like belt alignment .

Simplicity really.
I already have everything required to support an F1X from my previous build. I have also never had any supercharger related problems and love my Prochargers. The X is capable of meeting and GREATLY exceeding my goals. I love being able to change a belt in 15 minutes if I have to, and even being able to pull off the whole head unit in 20 minutes if I take my time.
Just different ways to make power for different people.

Lets hope so. I had a lot of hiccups with my last build. You still rocking the D1 on the LS3?
2K is always the goal for the car but I will likely being cutting it close. I will be down there regardless as a sponsor.

sub'd for results!
surprised you were pushing water at 1kwhp also, seems interesting to me some guys are able to get 1,300whp on nitrous out of 4 bot setups like ace32x and then other guys push water at 1k or even lower somtimes. LSX should fix that for sure and the guys at AMP have always been great in my interactions

I dont' remember the exact numbers or what it put down as i know he was also slipping the clutch but i thought it was like 900whp on blower with two big stages of nitrous, so should have been well over 1k whp, there are guys on yellowbullet going deep 8s I think on 4 bolt iron blocks too. wasn't Arun's 8 second ls6 build a 4 bolt setup too? it's just interesting to me how much power some guys make on 4 bolts where other guys push water at 35% lower power is all.

It would be interesting to see how some of the setups compare torque wise. Some could just be going too aggressive on timing too which would lead to some high cylinder pressures.
Not saying they are, just an idea.

I wanted AMP to do most of the work but I know they are slammed right now and moving locations.
Power adder type is big as well. I would think turbo cars would be able to make more power on 4-bolts due to the big power required to drive a Procharger.

Unreal runs them on his YSi setup and likes them.
