ECS 2200 Install
I just wanted to share with the forum my current build. After a few years of having the parts sit in my home and burn a hole in my closet, I have finally gotten around to beginning my install. I no longer drive my LS2 C6 everyday, so I am able to take my time and do the install at my leisure.
Parts list :
ECS 2200SL
ECS small blower cam
Ported LS3 (821) heads
Ported LS3 intake manifold
Patriot gold .650 springs
CO Speed 7.4 Moly pushrods
IW 10% overdrive balancer
Aquamist HFS-5 methanol kit
ECS stage 1 fuel system
80lb injectors motron
ARP head studs
LS9 head gaskets
ECS fuel pump booster
I may be missing a few small items from this list, but these are the major items. I am unsure of what this car will make in the way of power, but I am open to what you think here on the forum. I have a very good tuner in Jeremy Formato who I trust to help get this thing running nicely when it is all buttoned up. I will post pictures of my progress as I dive deeper in to this. I have a buddy helping with the install. I'd like to add a thanks to ECS for providing such great parts and support!

Nice build! Yeah that head unit should max out the stock pistons no problem.. that is a lot of parts to install!
You could def get by without the heads if you wanted to. The pistons will be limiting you more than anything else (assuming you're on a stock bottom end)

Thanks!
Yeah, I am on the stock bottom end for now. The car will be just a weekend cruiser, and an occasional trip to the strip. If the bottom end does eventually let go, I will go with forged parts. Like I said, in the way of power- I have no idea what to expect. I think 700 is reasonable.

Wow, I didn't think that I could be anywhere near that. How is your torque? Does it feel sluggish at the lower RPM (under 3500 RPM)? I am looking in to the Mcleod RXT clutch as many have said great things about the driveability.

Very nice, the Aquamist HFS5 is a beast, I just got a direct port HFS4 kit the quality is awesome. You should have some very nice numbers once it's complete.

Its a very comprehensive kit. Hard to beat aquamist when it comes down to the engineering and quality of parts invested in it. The HFS-5 is an older kit but it is great.

Anywho what 2200 do you have, billet wheel or cast?

Is yours activated via injector pulse width like mine or by MAP? My blower is the cast wheel. I believe the 2200R is the big boy wheel. My 2200SL blower is probably on par with the D1SC blower.

you can definitely pulley that setup to make way more power than any stock bottom end would be happy with, I bet 750whp should be very easy. I met a guy making almost 1k whp on a 2200 with a forged 427

750 seems unimaginable. I had a blown gto with an overdriven m122. That felt amazing. Of course the torque was violent. I'm hoping this will feel something like that. I realize that this is a centrifugal style and doesn't make the low end torque of a roots style blower, but we will see.

So far:
Heads off
Radiator out
Rack out
Balancer pulley off
I have an oil pump that I want to replace. It seems that there is no way to remove this without removing the oil pan bolts and maybe lifting the engine a couple of inches..... unless anyone knows another way...

The oil pump is easy to remove. Just remove the bolt on the pickup, don't drop the bolt. Pull the pickup out of the pump as much as you can, remove bolts that hold the oil pump on and pull the oil pump off. It will come off just fine. I had mine on and off 2 or 3 times while I was making sure the o-ring was installing correctly without any issues.
No issues at all removing it with pan in place. I did it a few months ago myself.
