I finally got around to getting my top shroud to fit and also putting in the PatG style side sheets and it made a very noticeable difference on cooling, it has only been about 72* locally but from datalogs I'd say at least 10* improvement in cooling when sitting still. car almost runs too cold now and rarely even gets >180* on coolant with oil temps stable at ~200*. Cools down much much faster from freeway blasts too. Super easy to just take cardboard templates and fab up the side sheets. Highly recommend doing.

72* is nothing... The test is when it's 90*+ and the AC is on..

On mine, AC adds 15-20* to the idle temp in the summer time.. And ambient air is almost 1:1 increase for me... Meaning 70* ambient = 180* ECT, 80* ambient = 185-190*, 90* ambient = 195-205*... Then add 15* to all of those numbers for AC...

Last summer during our worst heat wave, 101* ambient, I was seeing 225-230* at highway speeds with the AC, and idling, forget it... 235+ with only a short stop light. I was having to turn off the AC on a 101* day just to make it across town...

Pretty much sucks.. I guess I'm gonna revisit the cooling war again here soon enough and see what I can come up with.. Cutting of the front frame cross bar will be mod #1...

I can just see it is already running cooler and the car cools down from highway blasts much faster than before. and i had no cooling issues before. the shroud, cut bumper rail and side panels are very much worth doing imo

Not sure how temp problems are all in the tune. Can you elaborate.

I have of the same radiator and PC race cooler. It is a very tight fit. I moved the drivers side airbag sensor a couple inches more to the drivers side and pushed the IC as far away from the condenser as I could.

Here in Houston heat my temps are great when the car is moving. Its stop and go that I see 230+ coolant temps even with dual spals. I hear E85 burns cooler, is it enough to affect coolant temps?

Oh you didn't know already? All you gotta do is turn the fans on sooner!

Only works if you have silicone radiator hoses

before

after cutting it out

ECS actually makes billet lower subframe drop spacers to drop it 1.5" down and forward which is exactly the space we were looking for!!

New single brushless fan from Dewitts just like Unreal has

safe and boxed in with aluminum and tig welded in. Not bad for the first time with a tig! My shop foreman at my dealership did it for me

Last but not least my new custom front bumper that is coming out of the booth on Monday. Making the under hood ducting tomorrow for my new direct feed in to my F1X through the bumper. 3x larger then factory. Running a second screen on the bumper just for piece of mind until I have a box filter built. I cannot find a filter slim enough that wont collapse under 20+ psi. Ditching the factory procharger top cover for one with no opening in front of the blower. boxing in the radiator/condenser/IC to keep hot air away from the blower with a custom aluminum top plate.

I'm definitely sub'd to see how much improvement you see with the IC moved forward into the cut out frame cross bar... That is the ONLY thing I have not tried on mine, I think that has the best chance of making an improvement.

I will likely be doing this same mod this summer..

I have my IC way up front as you seen before and I don't run into any type of temp issues and I'm running a stock rad and fan setup. I think the problem is the IC sitting on top of everything. It just makes it harder for the air to flow through IMO.

I agree.

I'll be doing the same thing you did. Notch out/box in the front cross bar, then mount the IC IN FRONT of the cross bar as far up into the nose as I can get it... Then make new piping etc. Hopefully create an 8-10" gap between the IC and condenser vs the 2" gap I have now.

I like the air scoop mod Nino did in the bumper cover as well..

that looks awesome, I had not seen that billet ECS spacer setup. If this stuff does not do the trick then nothing will.
