Half shaft upgrade for 1,000rwhp
As most of you I will by now, I have my 2012 C6Z twin turbocharged. Making over 1,000rwhp but only roll racing from 45mph, I'm a bit concern about my tear end (half shafts in particular). By 2012, has GM beefed up the half shafts, or are they as week as the 2006 model year when the C6Z first came out?
I've heard of people swapping in C5 half shafts because they were over engineered for the kind of power that the C5s put out and in fact, even stronger than the C6 half shafts.
Is this horse ****, or is there any merit to this?
im not looking to go overboard with DSS half shafts which cost $1,900 when I can buy C5s for under $500 (for the set of 2).

1269/1301 Here TT 2008 have stock shafts with stock rear. I have C5Z axles in garage waiting if these ever go out.....been about 3 years over 1000.

C5's aren't an option in your car. I'd stick with what you have from a roll. I have broke one at a 40 roll with way less power than you, but the car hit an uneven surface and wheel hopped. Broke several more but from a dig.
The axles are what I want to be my weakest link on these cars. Easy/cheap 1 hour replacement.

Stick with stock. It is cheaper, and easier, to replace a broken axle than it is to replace a broken diff. Changing out one part to a stronger one will only put stress on the next weakest part.
