Stock wheels? What size wheel if not stock? Any rubbing issues?

I guess Twayneo1 doesn't know what its like breaking the tires loose at 70mph in 3rd.
Have to agree here, I can blow these SS off on the highway in 3rd gear every time, even in summer. I need new tires in the spring as the car is about to get put away. I was thinking about Sport Cups, but I always hear about the NT05s. Handling is just as important as straight line traction.

Not trying to hi jack but......

lt1z, I'm interested in the street combo you have for my car. Can you tell me more about your rim size and backspacing both front and rear. Tire size on front also. Any pics? Thanks

Can the mt et street tires handle in the turns as well? The Nt05r drag radials look good. But i want a tire i can throw around some turns too.

Does anyone have experience with the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R? It has a wear rating of 60.

Factory tires on z28. Road race tire. Not meant for straight line traction.

Wear very fast. Expensive and very fast wearing. Made to set a lap time.

MT drag radials, or any drag radial doesn't handle aggressive turning well.

Im running A&A v3 si kit on an ls3. Car makes 633hp /580tq. I took a gamble on Bridgestone Potenza s-04 Pole Position. I wanted RE 11 but they are not obtainable at the moment. First gear breaks them loose pretty easily but after that I am happy with the grip. Considering your power level is a lot higher, not sure if you will get the same results.

I can roll into the throttle in first until about 4k, but after that second third etc hold my little 633 hp just fine. I dont race folks, just like spirited pulls.

Hope you find something that works for you.

Yeah, we buy a great all around performance car. Then add significant HP and have to choose between handling or straight line performance tire. There is no right or wrong, just preference. I chose to stay with wet and dry handling and use my foot for managing traction. I will admit, the OP's HP level is about 150 more HP than me and managing traction with your foot is going to be more challenging.

Even though this thread started six months ago, your honest input will be valuable for others making the same decision.

Dodge made that decision for the consumer with the Demon, first production car with drag radials!

Well i ordered some nitto nto5r drag radials in 305 35 19. Let me just say it is the first time i havd ever had my car hook up under 4th gear. It feels like a whole new car! Pulls so hard now! As i hooked in 1st i watch the front rise as the felt rear squat. It threw my girlfriend into her seat. She said it was the first time her stomach ever dropped in the vette. I was impressed with how sticky these tires are. I do feel like they will wear crazy fast. The handleing does suck tho. You feel the car moving around on the tires in normal driving.

You get used to the wobbly feeling, doesn't take long to get used to it.

Mine have lasted 8-10K but a lot of that is obviously highway and not beating on them
