Tires for base 750hp supercharged
Currently I'm running 285/35/19 Pirelli corse R rated tires. They suck. No traction till third gear. I was thinking about trying 305/30/19 toyo R888 or 305/35/19 nitto Nt05 (which will help kill the z51 gearing). I don't track the car, but it'd be nice to grab some traction in second. I daily drive the car as long as it's not raining, so milage is a concern. I know I have to pay to play. Just wondering my best options?

michelin pilot super sports are a waste of money on a boosted vette if you are looking for traction. they are great in the rain and for daily driving, but soon as boost hits... like driving on ice.
I guess Twayneo1 doesn't know what its like breaking the tires loose at 70mph in 3rd.

to be honest, wider tires probably won't make a difference. Most guys on here are dropping their rear rim size down to 16 or 17s for more sidewall while running drag radials or soft compound street tires.

My 305/30/19 R888's will dead hook 2nd gear at 600whp (coilovers as well). Tires handle amazingly good.......but if you only car about straight line performance then go with a drag radial. You will not get good mileage out of either tire though

how do those tires do if you are caught in a rainstorm?

PSS are not straight line tires and don't hook >600rwhp.
Width is FAR overrated.
NT01 is a road race tire, not a straight line tire.
Just about no one runs "slicks" on a vette. They don't even over 18" drag slicks, just road race ones.
R888s are ok, but noisey, don't last long, but can hook ~600rwhp. For your power level you probably want a ET street SS or NT05R.
NT05 and NT05R are two completely different tires. One is a drag radial, the other is a performance radial. Not even comparable tires.

Unreal pretty much covered it. I roll around town and do cruising on my 19" CCW NT05/NT05R combo and have a set of 17" Welds with M&H's on the rear when I need to put down more power.

nt05r or et street s/s as stated above if you want to have fun... nt05r has the edge in handling and the s/s has the edge in traction but both are great tires... the nt05r will last a little longer than the s/s but neither will last as long as a normal street tire... I got caught in rain once with nt05r's and they were fine as long as you don't drive like a fool, haven't had the s/s in rain so I can't comment on those... the r888 is not a bad tire but not the best for straight line traction with a lot of power, they are more focused for corner carving and have very stiff sidewalls

Running NT05R in the back, regular NT05 in the front. Still spins some in 2nd but 3rd is usually good. Before these I'd spin at 80+
Michelin Super Sports, hahahaha. Good luck with those.

I've got 8K on them so far, i'd guess 12K or so is what I'll get out of the rears. Fronts should last a good bit longer, they aren't nearly as aggressive

I've had real good luck with the MT ET Street 2 305/35R19. I'm around 800rwhp also. I can roll into the throttle pretty hard in second and they stick when warm. I DD on the MTs and live in Florida. Been caught in the rain more than once and they do fine as long as you don't drive like a dummy

Last 12-18k miles, hold 6-750rwhp in 2nd depending on gears, will break you neck in corners and are safe in rain as long as they still have thread.
