Default WANT MORE POWER!!! 402ci LS2 w/ Paxton 2200

So just as the title says. I built the car last year and I'm looking to get more power out of it. It currently makes 806whp on a Dynojet running 18.5 lbs of boost. There are definitely ways I can get more power like a smaller pulley and a race gas tune. My only concern is will my motor hold it or am I kind of maxed out and pushing my luck for an aluminum block.

Heres my build list.

Let'r rip. You will run out of injector before that motor. I dont know what max rpm is for that head unit but that would be another consideration.

With the 3" head unit pulley you are basically maxed on RPM, you could upgrade to a 2200R/X, but we also recommend going to a ten rib set up then too. Although that is a big added expense, I bet your set up would sell quickly and I will give you a great deal on your upgrades. Just some food for thought, 20+ lbs of boost FTW!

If the builder is good, i would push that over 1000Whp all day.

What size balancer do you have?

That combo should be able to make over 900 hp. As for reliability, I think you should be fine at that power level, although some people have reported problems with the compstar crank flexing.

I would worry more about the crank than the block if pushing that more.

Yea my old motor cracked a sleeve and now I'm just always afraid that's my weak point. I thought those Compstar cranks can hold a bit of power. Guess I have to look into them a little more.

Yup, I don't trust those compstar cranks for nothing...
Weakest link in that build.

You guys actually built my car, but damn I thought I can squeak some more out of this head unit. Whats your opinion on everything else in the motor? Is it worth me upgrading and doing the race gas tune? Or am I asking to grenade this motor and just be happy with what I have?

We do not use the Comp star cranks as far as I can ever remember? Did we do the engine build?

That said, either way the 2200 is usually good to 850/900 RWHP. So I guess you should be able to bump it up some.

K1 Technologies for the cheaper ones... Better crank than Compstar in my and many others opinion. Seen lots of broken compstars.

But I prefer to use Dragonslayers or better for anything that makes real power. (1000+)

I actually made 865whp on your dyno, so I guess you're right im pretty maxed out if its good until 900. I know you guys ordered the motor from Texas Speed, but I'm pretty sure it came as a short block and was already built.

What's everyone's opinion on the power limit of the 4" stroke compstar cranks? I'm looking to max out my D1 on my 408. I always heard they're ok with anything under what a ysi or f series blower can make.

I honestly don't trust them at all, I wouldn't sell them to a customer or run them in anything I personally own.

PM me your name/info and I'll see if i can go back into records and see what you have in there. Like I said, we do not usually use them unless specifically requested by the customer.

This kinda concerns me I was going to step up to the 2200 from my 1500, but I already make more than 840whp on the 1500 and doesn't appear the 2200 will really give me much more room up top...
