Would you over torque headstuds?
Building a shortblock for my LS2 Vette, Novi 2200r maxed out with a little bit of nitrous to help with IATs. I'm using a factory alum. block bored to 4.005, would you over torque the head studs? I've heard of people doing it, just wanted to hear opinions.

Im sure people get by with it but torque specs are there for a reason. If you could get additional clamping force without compromise by over torquing, then that woulda been the torque spec to begin with.

5-10lbs over wont hurt but the torque specs are there for a reason tbh overtorquing could probably hurt if your torque ratchet is not calibrated and you torque it 10lb over but its actually putting more than that, with a proper calibrated up to date torquer just torque to spec

Seems like you'd want to hone the cylinders with the torque plate over torqued too if you're going to do it that way on final assembly.

Torque specs are there for a reason, not just a suggestion. Call the guys at ARP and ask this same question and see what kind of answer you get.
And spraying anything on an MLS gasket is a bad idea. If the spray isn't consistent it can leave low and high spots causing more harm than good.
Keep it simple, don't try and re-engineer an already good thing.

I would have to agree with Lance on this one.
