ECS did do a cog mod which was basically this but a small cogged belt instead of an autotensioner ribbed like this, but last time I checked they are not doing that anymore because people are clueless when it comes to using a cogged belt.
I have a problem with belt breakage under hard acceleration with drag radials on. Would something like this kit eliminate that problem?

Blk 08 C6 - I see you've got the belts on already. According to Andy and the installation instructions he sent me, it's kind of "tricky" to get the belts on. How'd it go for you?
no tricks I just followed his instructions.that plastic pulley for the a/c take it out dont install.last to go in.go ahead and slip your a/c belt just like you would normally when you replace it.around the crank damper using the tensioner locking pin to slide it in place.I use a short adj.wrench to relieve tension on the a/c tensioner and align the belt in place.and then install that plastic pulley for the a/c.when you do this last you will have more tension on the belt so be careful not to strip the threads as you threading it in.make sure its goin in as you tightening the bolt on the plastic pulley. if you need pics. lmk .

Depends why you are breaking belts. IMO probably not, if you are breaking belts you have another issue. If it is slip, this helps a ton, but breaking is different.

Your belt is probably too short and your tensioner doesn't have enough travel....

If the balancer is an 8 rib and I want to run an 8 rib pulley on my Vortech, do I also have to buy the 8 rib conversion kit along with the secondary drive kit? The 8 rib conversion kit comes with spacers for the brackets to move everything forward, wouldnt I still need those with the secondary drive to run 8 rib on blower pulley?

Edit: This is for an 04 C5

No, just the blower pulley and balancer are 8 rib with the new secondary drive. Everything else remains stock-size pullies.

you will need spacers, idlers, and a blower pulley for the blower bracket but as stated above everything else remains stock... call a&a and they can get exactly what you need

Is it during acceleration at the gear change ? Had trouble with a guys Camaro and we traced it back to the BOV....at the gear change he would lunch a belt almost like clockwork. Turns out the BOV was big enough but the vacuum line feeding it was to small to actuate the valve quick enough. Literally $10 worth of bigger hose saved him hundreds on belts.

I ordered one of these yesterday but now I'm seeing different pics of the lower 4 rib tensioner. Some has a fixed tensioner and the other has a spring tensioner like the one in this thread. I really want the spring tensioner. Did Andy and Josh change designs and eliminated the spring tensioner or am I over looking something?

I ordered mine not long ago and it's adjustable, it's very similar to the J bracket on their blower bracket

I meant to say spring tensioner not adjustable tensioner. So the CURRENT design has a spring tensioner for the Damper to Jackshaft on the 4 rib correct?

no, it's a manual tensioner on the jackshaft very similar to the manual tensioner on the blower bracket... the tensioner up top on the 6 rib belt is still a spring tensioner like the older design

I’ve got this setup and it works great. I had to get a shorter belt for the AC/power steering, but A&A is shipping them now with the shorter belt. Very good product.

Thanks Patriot 6 for chiming in and for the feedback. Honestly I haven't seen any bad reviews so I should quit worrying about it. Just thought it came with a spring tensioner for the jackshaft. I want this to be the last pulley system I buy.

yep, it has plenty of adjustment... I installed it without the belt at first to check and noticed that it slightly touched the edge of the timing cover at nearly the end of it's adjustment point, keep in mind that this is on the end that you would be tightening... I filed down my cover just a tad so i had clearance and then installed the belt... the belt is a tight fit and once installed the manual tensioner was already pretty tight and I got maybe an 1/8" out of it from fully open... after that i realized I probably didn't need to file the cover because there is a lot of room for adjustment before it gets close to the cover... so far it has been perfect just like everything else I have bought from them, they make fantastic products in my opinion

Here's a very good pic from Josh of the adjustable tensioner for the 4rib belt. Looks very well made.
