Default A&A supercharged Grand Sport build.

I've never done a build thread before so bare with me lol. A little back story... A short while ago I decided I want to find a nice GS and supercharge it. I was set to find one is cyber grey, but I was also considering JSB. I decided to get on here and do some research on what kits guys were happy with and supporting mods, etc. During this time I noticed a for sale thread with a supercharged 2012 Grand Sport and once I saw it was the right color amongst other things I decided I had to have it and was lucky enough to bring it home. The forum member I purchased it from only had it a short while. I am now the 4th owner of the car and all work was previously performed by RPM when it was in the 2nd owners possession.

The car is very clean, has an A&A V3si kit, AIS meth injection, ARH headers, and a Borla exhaust. Engine otherwise stock, it put down 623hp at RPM.

Although this is not my first LS based vehicle it is my first vette and first FI car and the first mistake I made was not having it checked out by some of the great local shops/guys we have local after the purchase. After some spirited Mexico runs with another local car, I noticed a noise coming from the bottom end. Upon inspection I realized that the meth pump was not working and I ended up hurting a piston on my new to me Grand Sport.

!!Updated build plans start on page 7!!

So now it's time to build it bigger and better. I want to eventually see a safe 800rwhp with the car. So far the build list consist of the following and I'm open to suggestions as well.

1. LME built short block. Stock cubes. Rated 1000whp
2. Asylum Motorsports cam package, and dyno tune
3. Mantic 9000 twin disc
4. 10% OD 8 rib conversion
5. 3.6 pulley for the V3
6. ID1300 injectors
7. Alky Control
8. Remove BAP and install Fore fuel system to go E85

Plan is to max the blower out and I'm sure all of this will have me over the 700hp mark. I also plan on upgrading the blower later on to achieve the 800 mark without working a blower so hard.

The day I picked it up.

I then had the stripes removed and the whole car polished and ceramic coated

Bought LED markers and tails, had them tinted and then installed them. Probably going to get the tails redone as they aren't as dark as I wanted.

How she sits now...

The damage

Engine crated up before it got shipped to LME

So now it's a waiting game on the engine build and the rest of the parts to come in.

Looking forward to this build and your experience with Asylum. I'm still up in the air between them or Futral for my build.

Justin will get you right. If you what 800 just swap headunits now while it's down. Good call on switching to alky control. I'd go with the Fore setup for fuel and do a flex fuel setup with at least some ID1300s. He has plenty of experience doing it on my car when he was at Futral.

Justin has done work for me in the past and I've been very happy. I definitely recommend him.

I'm glad you mentioned about the injectors. I'm on the fence about eventually setting up the car for e85 but I wanted to make sure I bought enough injector incase I do decide to do it.

I talked with Justin about maybe going to a YSI, but we both agreed it wasn't necessary with me not wanting to be over 1000hp, and he thinks I won't like the response of it as well. So he and I are both thinking maybe going to a D1 if and when I upgrade.

I would set the fuel system up for flex fuel now vs doing it later and getting charged more for labor or having to do it yourself. Yeah no need for the YSi at all. You already have a A&A so just get the Ti headunit. I do like the D1 more but it would cost you a lot more to make that headunit/bracket swap.

Ok. I knew I'd have to do some bracket swap but didn't look into pricing. A Ti I considered and agree it will financially be the smartest route. I wanted to have the car done before tx2k but I don't think that's happening now.

So 1300s with a dual intank setup? What pumps are recommended?

Get the D1 and max it out on E, it will make a great power band and plenty fast enough for street duty. If you wanna feel 800 with that blower my cars always around. Id1300 will do well.

I paid $1250 for my bracket since it's the A&A billet 10 rib version so you would either pay that or less depending on which bracket you get then factor in the cost for the D1X (new and what I would go with). Supposed to have a new impeller and be a little badass. You see what me and Slo-Poc's have done so that should make you feel good.

D1 or a Ti trim will get you into the 800s.

Appreciate you guys' input and the offer Slo-Poc. I've been impressed with this community of enthusiast so far.

Being I don't have 25k to just order everything right now, a blower upgrade is one of the things I will most likely be doing a little later. I want to drive the car again before Christmas lol. I'm still thinking a Ti would be a better choice just for ease of slapping it on and cost. I know the D1 has more power potential though.

I see the ID1300s are a nice price jump over the 1050s. But I guess it's better to come off the money now than loose it when I have to swap them later haha.

Would you guys happen to know what these are off the top of your head? My searches are yielding FAST 65LBers, but I see someone (either A&A or RPM if I had to guess) scribed 80 on them.

Yep swapping to the Ti is easier and more cost effective. ID's hold their value pretty well but since you are shopping just get the ones you may need for the future vs not having enough and having to go through the selling-buying process.

Those look like they may be FIC 80lb injectors (basically a LS3 injector resized with their machined tip). Let me know if you do need a set of ID1300s though
