AA kit / factory belt on AA tensioner
Guys.
In a quandary. I am installing my head unit and tensioner bracket but I want to run regular belt since I'm not finishing the install today. Can the regular belt be used just not around the head unit? Have to drive it home

Since the tensioner is not there anymore, not sure how that would work.

if its like on my c5 then yes, the stock belt will work.
if it doesnt, just put the unit on with some kind of filter or mesh in front. you can also put on the original tensioner. use a longer 12 mm head cap screw that serves as a stop for the tensioner and put a nut on it in the back.. you should get about 2" between tensioner pulley and balancer. i put a narrow nut between the head of the screw and the ear for safety. if you cant get the belt on, grind an excenter on the head and turn it into position by grinding a squre section on the end of the screw.

I'd think as long as you keep the car out of boost you would be fine driving it?
the drag of the blower on the motor at idle etc may make it act kind of funny but if you're just limping it home a short distance I'd think it should be fine?
