Hard to beat the powerband of a maxed out D1 but with the top end of a f1a94.

Why not just upgrade to an F series?

I'm guessing he only wanted a little more top end without losing the hard hit of a D1 being spun for a street car. Most of the F1 blowers come on later and make the big power late in the curve since they are designed around stalled auto drag cars.

Pretty much to the t. If I wanted to make well within 4 digits I would have got one.

how do you like it compared to the d1sc. I'm doing a 427 to rev to 6500 or thereabouts. I noticed in another thread you uped the rev limit to 7k. Necessary?

I love it. I was revving the D1SC to 6800 and it loved it there. The X flows so much more up top it is a must to raise it.

That’s pretty damn good on a mustang dyno.

1-4 are all too close together and 1 is so low it's practically useless. Then there's a huge jump from 4th to 5th and I need 5th for the end of 1/2 mile runs. The problem is RPM's drop from something like 6500 to mid 4000's when going from 4 to 5.. on a centri setup that means losing like half the boost you were seeing at red line at the worst possible time. So all of a sudden you're going from 6500 RPM's, 14psi of boost.. to 4000 something and 7-8psi of boost, as you're crossing the line.. not ideal at all

Pretty much, then the big jump to 5th makes things worse if you're going fast enough to need 5th

I'm thinking about swapping to this blower with a 427. Will this blower support 1000rw?

It should. Mine puts down 980 pretty easily with barely any timing in it.

With a 427 you should pick a different blower if you want to be over 1000 hp. If it does make it to 1000 it is going to be running out of steam on the top end. But if you wait a month or so I will let you know. I am putting one on a 427 with a 3.70 and 10% overdrive which will be maxed out by prochargers recommendations. I'm not expecting it to hit 1000. I actually don't want it to.
