Default Thinking about FI on my LS2 Turbo or SC

I have a lightly modded 07 base (BTR stage 3 cam, underdrive pulley, headers, full exhaust etc.) I had originally considered doing a stroker kit and sleeving the LS2 black with darton sleeves, heads, Fast Intake 102mm, throttle body, injectors etc. I am now thinking about doing a booster application. I have looked at the APS kits, On 3 Performance, and the UPP Kits. I have also considered a centrifugal blower like Procharger etc. This car is a street driven 99% of the time with a little Auto-X, road course, and drag racing here and there. I am not looking for insane amounts of boost. I am not really worried about horsepower numbers either. As my car sits now, it put down 438 rwhp and 429 ftlbtq. I am looking for more power but also reliability as well. I just wanted to hear the pros and cons of going boosted with one of the turbo kits as well as super charger set ups. I wanted to know what kind of money I am looking at etc.

I don't think on3 is doing that kit anymore but I could be wrong. I prefer ecs or a&a but the upp stuff does seem pretty nice.

Hard to beat how easy it is to bolt on a centri kit. If you’re set on pro charger then I’d consider A&A’s bracket then get a PC head unit.

I really like turbos but the packaging to make a kit fit on a C6 is a pain. Centri is def easier and cheaper

I am not set on one brand or another. I have heard good things about A&A and ECS as well. How is the reliability of those kits?

I’ve got something like 50K on my ECS setup. I replaced one bearing in one idler and some belts along the way (mainly from trying different brands or changing pulley sizes, etc) but that’s about it, so it’s been really reliable for me

I wish I had left the original belt on and seen how long it would go

Turbo torque is fun too, though also good at breaking stuff.. I haven’t seen a UPP kit personally so I can’t really say much about them

Extremely reliable and you can dial in your power however you want to. Should drive really close to stock at part throttle. You can make 550 if you want or you can make 750. Depends on fuel quality and pulley size and how hard your willing to push it.

Besides the bolt on kit did you do any other upgrades or supporting mods?

It comes with injectors and a fuel pump booster. A lot of people replace the stock harmonic balancer because they tend to fail. Maybe upgrade the catch can from the unit ecs sends to a mighty mouse but it's not a must. All depends on how much power you want.

I already upgraded my balance to an underdrive with an ARP bolt. I'm not looking for tons of power. Just a bit more than I have now. 600 rwhp with reliability and good street manners would be fine for me.

I’ve gone from bolting the kit on to a 100% stock car to pretty much everything you can do w stock bottom end. Fuel system, e85, cam, headers, clutch, etc. Thread that goes through all of it is in my signature

The nice thing was I literally didn’t have to change anything on the kit other than the head unit pulley and remove the restrictor to go from beginning to end. It’s the same everything else.. same head unit, same tensioner, still 6 rib.. nothing special. Just a basic ECS setup

There are some good guys on this board to get info from. Schpenxel is one of em. I pretty much listen to what they say because they've all been through it. I would guess 600 is around the max you would want to push it on 93 octane. They can probably tell you more about that. I'm starting my install this weekend hopefully and I'm running 93 and meth. Looking for 675 or so thru an automatic.

Under drive is the opposite of what you want on a supercharger setup but you might can get away with a smaller pulley on the head unit to make up the difference, to a point anyways

I would be fine with switching the balanced out. I could always sell it

Yeah should be able to break even or at least somewhere close selling the old one, Summit C2501 is a cheap aftermarket option in standard diameter. Pinning the balancer is the worst part about a centri install, otherwise it isn't bad

I still would pick turbos if there was a good option for C6's like there are on the fifth gen Camaros

It sounds like A&A or ECS kit might be the way to go. I like the idea of doing a stroker build but an S/C seems the easiest and least expensive route. Not to mention I could sell it if I ever sold the car. Who has the best prices on kits?

Not sure anymore, I bought from FSP before they went under. Should be able to get a kit for ECS or A&A for $5K'ish or a little under

call them direct. ecs is a little cheaper but the customer service at a&a may very well make up for it.
