Calling Heartbeat owners
#21
I’m liking what I’m hearing about these ID1050Xs. If they’re better than the 850s, well, damn, maybe I’ll buy a set and throw them in the Vette and use the 850s in my truck.
That way I could run corn juice on the Vette and maybe throw a blower on the old truck.

If you are not running out of fuel with 850s, no point, but it just goes back to reason why 850s are not offered. Why have a sku that doesn't have any need or advantage?
#23
Twenty years ago, if someone had told me that factory 6.0/6.2 L engines would be offered with a >260+cc port volume, I would have called them crazy...

Thanks to everyone who replied. i just ordered the Heartbeat with no tuner or injectors, but with id1050x, 90 mm pulley and lots of other goodies suggested by the heartbeat crowd and non heartbeat crowd.
It's gunna be fun.

That’s excellent. You are going to be very pleased with that combo.

Thanks Everyone,
The Heartbeat is coming by sea freight. It is much cheaper to the
Land Down Under. So, with Magnuson having to assemble the kit
and the slower freight, i am guessing another 6 to 8 weeks. But,
that is ok, i will fit the racetronix harness and kenne bel bap and
new akebono ceramic brake pads and keep enjoying my cam only
car that i love already.

Plus i work away for 7 days on a remote island, so time goes fast. I
work 7x13 hour days on a manganese mine, then my company flies me home for 7 off. Plus, i am an old dude now with lots of patience
for things i can appreciate.

The older I get, the less patience I have. As I said to one lazyass civil servant the other day: “Patience? Doctors have patients. I’m a lawyer. We have clients. And they all expect it done last week.”
A manganese mine, you say? Man, I have the strangest forum budddies on here: some grow rice in Texas, some dig manganese in Australia, some work for chemical companies in California, some go to Nassau for bachelor parties... what a weird bunch!

I’ve been working my whole life on a remote island. And it ain’t nowhere as cool as it sounds!

goals. As for the 2650, my local shop..ie 400 klms away
is having a hard time fitting it to a commodore that i see on Stalbook, let alone a vette

But having 2650 rotors in a Heartbeat design, with a 108mm+ throttle body, would be fun.

Fitting the Harrop 2650 on a C6 would be a serious challenge, I believe. And I’m not sure it would produce any better results in a street-driven car than a Whipple 2.9. The biggest advantage of the Heartbeat design, in my humble opinion, is the twin charge air coolers. The Harrop has the same type of single central intercooler as the older jackshaft Maggie design and the Whipple.

Also would be great to see a heartbeat style 2650 but not sure if magnuson are going to invest the LS platform now the LT is out.

I'm pretty sure the Harrop uses a twin intercooler design. Or that's what I got from there vids on the front fed from drive units. Agreed it would be a total trial and error thing on a vette. But it's a 2650! Haha

I have no doubt that Magnuson has all but forgotten the C6 Hbeat crowd, small as it is.

I was just reading through your heartbeat thread, ie Sammy, when I discovered the old id1000's are longer in length than the id850's everyone has almost used and cannot be used with the heartbeat?
Just wondering if the id1050x injectors I have ordered will fit? Anyone know? I e-mailed injector dynamics, but I thought I would ask here too. I can find the dimensions of the id1050x, but cannot compare them to the others. Thanks once again

You’ll be good, as long as you specified that they were for an LS3/LS9 application. As far as I know, all of the IDs can be ordered in the short LS3 type version. One of the really smart things that ID does is they make their injectors in the short body (LS3 style) and then if you order injectors for say, an LS2, they include an adaptor that increases the length for that installation. Just make sure that you ordered the shorter LS3/LS9 version and you’ll be good.

ID1050s/1300/1700s are all short. May need some adapters, but they will fit.
